Title mentions 4k. Sidebar says "Dimensions: 1024 × 576 px".

Is this a joke? Is this supposed to be watched on a smartwatch?

This isn't even HD Ready (1280x720)..
This isn't even Full HD (1920x1080).. And yet you claim it's in 4k!
4k is supposed to four times the width of this and four times the height of this video!

To make this even more egregious, the file is almost 80 Megabytes despite the beyond shitty resolution!

I guess the Mininova team really don't give a shit anymore, huh?

#4 I love how you think you need to tell me that the admins don't get paid. News flash: I was a Snotr admin (username: Aliquantulus) for years, and if I remember correctly, a description was obligatory before a video could be approved. Sad to se Snotr not having technically evolved one single bit since those years (maybe with the exception of not allowing url-changing to view unpublished videos). 51MB for a 3.5min video.. It's 2014 guys.. Come on!
The site stays the same, and the admin work is lazy at best.. I guess the guys really did retire after selling out and changing Mininova..

Come on Snotr! If you're going to wait a year before posting a video like this, at least mention everything that has happened since then! At least compensate for the lag with added bonus of giving the full story (since you have that option when doing it this late in the game).

In short:
After this video was posted on youtube, he did in fact plead "Not guilty", but the guy behind the original video explains why here: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=N4l3r1fxHSc
After that he did in fact plead guilty and was sentenced to 6,5 years in prison: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ReMol0aaP7A

Considering that Snotr already admits to not spend money on network/server upgrades, at least encode the video to a reasonable size.. I find it hard to believe that the guys behind Mininova doesn't have the necessary means to implement the bare minimum..

#3 That Rhesus Monkey (named Tetra) wasn't exactly cloned the way most people consider 'cloning'. Even PLC's needs computers to be programmed, and those computers to this day have never been connected to the Internet, but they do have USB-ports (and other I/O ports). If you infect enough computers, and do it discretely (read. doesn't do anything except reproduce until it finds it's target), you'll sooner or later be in contact with any computer. The more you know about the system you want to infect, the quicker you can do this.

Wood as tinder doesn't explode from a magnifying glass, let alone ice as magnification device.

Picture of JohnMichael32 achievements

0 95. JohnMichael commented 13 years ago on video Double Decker Racing

#18 The problem isn't finding a video in the future when you know right now you're going to wanna watch it in x months/years. The problem is finding specific videos on Snotr when:
- You want to watch all the Top Gear / SNL / Wipeout videos on Snotr but the search function finds <40% of them because 'Top Gear' / 'Wipeout' / 'SNL' / 'Digital Short' isn't mentioned in either the title or the description (not like the search function goes through the comments that are far more useful).
- You didn't plan x months/years ahead and bookmark/favourite the video you now wanna watch again.
- This issue has been taking up lots of time with the staff (by the mods and admins), last time in Jan 2011. It's clearly an issue that the Snotr staff doesn't care about or thinks will be to expensive to implement, so I really don't get why you try to play this down as nothing.

I'm just saying, user friendliness plays a role, and generates more views (on older videos) which in tail generates more profit (through ads).
Picture of JohnMichael32 achievements

0 96. JohnMichael commented 13 years ago on video Double Decker Racing

#18 I think you're missing the point here too. The problem isn't finding videos that you've seen before and have bookmarked.
Snotr has 6700+ videos and more are added every day, what if a new user wants to watch old videos but can't find all of your Top Gear / SNL Digital Shorts videos because you never tagged them properly?
You're already have issues with duplicate videos ending up on the front page, and it's not like Erik hasn't shot down the mods/admins about a tagging system in the past..
Picture of JohnMichael32 achievements

+2 97. JohnMichael commented 13 years ago on video Double Decker Racing

#14 && #15 That star only applies to users with accounts, and doesn't take away from the fact that it's impossible to find shit with either Google or Snotr's own search function when they don't tag their videos properly. The search function doesn't get better if I add all 6000+ videos as favourites...

Let's say you wanted to find all the SNL Digital Shorts on this site? Or all Top Gear videos? You won't find them all with the search function..

A quick google search reveiled that his name is Jahvid Best.
Wikipedia says he got a concussion (apparently the second concussion in two weeks for the poor fella), was taken to hospital and released the day after.

#11 Actually, they use the YouTube account "realitychangers" (http://www.youtube.com/user/realitychangers).

The story goes: They uploaded the song for fun, and Edward Sharpe and The Magnetic Zeros Acoustic (who originally made the song) linked to their cover song (called "Home";), which in turn gave them YouTube stardom and lead to them being on Ellen and other talk shows.

#15 Best thing about TeamViewer: Works on Windows, Mac and Linux (you don't even have to run it via Wine anymore). Great when you're not up for spending 2 hours on the phone troubleshooting some little bug that Steve Jobs calls a "feature".

+2 113. JohnMichael commented 13 years ago on video Tech Support - Parents

#13 In my mind, nothing beats TeamViewer when it comes to helping people from scratch. From scratch I mean: I've never bothered to set up VNC/RDP/whatever-you-prefer on the 'n00bs' computer.
TeamViewer doesn't even has to be installed, it can be run as a portable program (the executable begins the whole thing with "Do you want to install or just run now?"

Right then and there, over the phone, I can tell them "Go to teamviewer.com, click big green button, run the .exe file, choose run, give me your client ID and client password that's in front of you. Thank you, now don't touch the mouse and let me fix whatever you've done (wrong)."
TechInline also works, but that's not free (well, TeamViewer is only free for personal !non-commercial use).

Problem nowadays is that n00bs (in lack of a political correct term for'em) doesn't have the patience that we (tech savvy people) had (and probably still have). They would rather call us up to find the proper application, than to search themselves.

And #6 brought up a good point. I absolutely hate helping people who are asking the same questions each time they call. If you can't remember how you did this the last time I helped you, then fucking write notes or something.

#5 There's something called learning by doing. Or, you could just do what comes naturally (when you have a GUI).
Example: The first time I used a computer I turned it on by using the ON button. After it had booted up I clicked the START button because I figured it was there for a reason. I was 10 and this was Windows 95. 6 years later I was 16, and my dad called me at school to find the frickin START button (some application had a manual that told him to click it). I hanged up and he found it himself after a while.

Instead of learning them how to fish (and hunt, and prepare food, and take a crap, and take a shower etc), how about you learn then to figure shit out on their own?
Conclusion:
Don't learn them how to fish (or use an computer), but learn them that it is possible to figure shit out on your own.

Trust me, she's done way worse to him. And so has he I suppose, and they're still together, which I guess, is weird, but it works for them, so who are we to judge? :P

-1 120. JohnMichael commented 13 years ago on video Googles Dark Side

Example: You have access to a couple of million e-mail accounts. Why would you waste your time reading through strangers e-mails?

As long as you don't know who Person A is, you don't give a shit whether or not Person A is cheating on Person B. And should you know Person A, then the risk of logging into his/her account is bigger than the benefit of reading through his/her e-mails.

A lot of experts (not saying that the guy in the video I linked to is an expert) have also stated that the US did similar tests in the athmosphere with even bigger bombs than the Tsar Bomba, but they never announced the yield (cuz they knew that that would only make the cold war even worse) in order to prevent the Soviet from demonstrating even bigger bombs.
