For the enigma this might be true. But the modified enigma by the english was better.
And if you compare modern encryption techniques to the older ones,
you have to look at the tools used for breaking ciphers, too.
Maybe in a few years your free 1024-bit encryption might be cracked due to the enormous amount of computational power nowadays.
So you can't say the modern techniques are safer, there just safe now as a modified enigma was safe at the time.

The word Kugelblitz originates from germany and could be translated into lightningball or something similar. In common language you also call rather fat people running fast a Kugelblitz, so not always appropriate as a compliment.

Kilopond is a unit that was widely used in europe until 50 years ago.
I like the metric system more than imperial units, because i know how long a meter is or how heavy a kilogramm.
But if you grew up in an area where the imperial system is used, you have no "feeling" for the metric units.
I think thats the biggest problem in changing systems. But I agree that the metric system is more logic in some ways (1000m = 1km etc).
I hope you get my point.

Pressure it took to destroy the pillar: 43 N/mm^2
