In this day and age a little kindness shown makes life a little more worth living. Thanks.

That's really good. I wonder how long it took to input all the commands.

Looks like something that escaped from Eraserhead. I'll have the throbbing eyeball in dog piss with a giant cricket leg on the side. Pretty ghastly and no surprise the chef is Japanese (those guys have some unfamiliar cultural differences).

0 4. slightlyph commented 10 years ago on video Scientist David Suzuki makes an analogy about our planet that's pretty terrifying

It would be even scarier if this analogy was made about the escalation of totalitarianism in the past, oh, 20 years. Even better, the escalation of procurement of natural resources which the coming years will demonstrate to us in the USA, plus elsewhere. Pollution or government will likely annihilate us before population.

Cops are lenient on rich kids, period. If it'd been a black kid in a beater, his ass would've been on the pavement. The rich rule, the poor get to suck on it.

Probably a pool of water with a strong, waterproof cover then covered with rocks.

-1 10. slightlyph commented 11 years ago on video If the Moon were replaced with some of our planets

I think Jupiter and Saturn would be a lot bigger at the moon's distance.

+4 11. slightlyph commented 11 years ago on video Will We Ever Visit Other Stars?

In my opinion, un-manned exploration stands a chance but sending humans beyond the moon isn't because of physical limitations in zero gravity. Cryogenics might help but, even then, it would have to be some sort of interstellar Noah's ark of a sort and basically a suicide mission for thousands of generations of crew needed for the trip. It's ridiculous, actually, when you think of how little "space travel" has taken place in the last fifty years. As primitive as our species is, what with the inability to stop destroying the planet and each other, we a long way from qualifying for the endeavor. Just an opinion.

No matter how you slice it, it was a nice thing to do and I'm sure it raised the spirits of these unfortunate people. These guys do deserve kudos. Their hearts are in the right places.

I think the whole idea is FUN! The weapons exist, a lot of them historical and whatnot, so what's wrong with people going out in the desert and blowing a bunch of stuff up? I think if you have a pair, you'd surely pay to do it.

+1 14. slightlyph commented 11 years ago on video Michio Kaku: How to travel to other stars, so unimaginably far away.

Looking around at the state of our species, so many injustices and insurmountable ignorance, the prospect of "travel" to another planet or moon seems more the pipe dreams of elitists. It would be best to fix our world before we pollute another.

Best part of this is Third Strike. I guess the creator was trying to be artistic but the end result is a jumble of mis-matched, cut-off and repeated flashes of moments. It's almost unwatchable after a while. A little less flash would have gone a long way.

+1 19. slightlyph commented 12 years ago on video Afterlife

I think this whole argument hinges on humanity's ability to label things; to give things a name. Religion was born in the early times when life and death depended on the sun, rain, etc. and even now it's firmly attached to words like "sun" "light" "fire" and so forth. I've no intention of joining in on the endless attempts to come up with dramatic videos regurgitating the same nonsense but I will say one thing... human beings do not know. You can neither prove nor disprove the existence of an organized force in control of all matter, a creator if you will, simply because we are ignorant, simple organisms with delusions of intelligence beyond our station. We do not know, period, and believing in a metaphor that represents doing good over evil is the origin of humanity's progress. Atheists believe they are right but that doesn't prove anything. Same with theists. Live and let live.

-1 20. slightlyph commented 12 years ago on video Abundance is our future

This is utter nonsense. Try telling the twenty million unemployed people things are getting better. Everything is cheaper? That's an out and out lie. Minimum wage has doubled in thirty years but the cost of living is fifteen times as high. This guy thinks like a politician or what's called an economist. All the pipe-dreaming in the world won't alter the greed of those controlling the money.

If you have the money you can live the dream. Otherwise, you get to suck hind tit like the overwhelming majority. Number 9 has it right, complete BS. As long as citizens worship celebrities making more in a day than their entire family makes in a lifetime, the fat cats have won.

0 23. slightlyph commented 12 years ago on video How to get the girl of your dreams

It's natural for women to go for the money and I agree it's a holdover from the hunter/gatherer days. It's a good thing that young women are usually impetuous and romantic, going for love instead of money, otherwise most guys would never get any. Sad truth is that we are a capitalist organism and you pay for what you get. Nuff said.
