The basic idea is easy to figure out, but I'm still curious if he is sitting in a swing/harness or how he is supported so evenly. I've seen these guys in Rome and they sit there all day, it would have to be somewhat comfortable in order to tolerate it for so long.

30. spaceludes commented 9 years ago on video Blind Woman Sees Her Son for the Very First Time
My thoughts were similar to the comments #1 made. I'm certainly no expert and I mean no disrespect but if she has never seen a baby, at 54 seconds into the video it seems like her eyes are functioning quite well for somebody who has been blind their whole life. If this is a device for people with partial vision, that is an important piece of information left out, and following it up with a link to "make blindness history"...that would therefor be disrespectful to people who are totally blind, in my opinion.

31. spaceludes commented 9 years ago on video Dramatic footage of the moment a passenger jet hits a bridge before crashing into a river in Taiwan
Pilots are being hailed as heroes. The trajectory of the plane was due to an emergency reaction to avoid setting the aircraft down in a densely populated area. They crashed in a small river which save countless lives on the ground, and possibly some of the passengers due to the lack of fire in the crash. So far, I have read there are 15 survivors, which is the real story here.

As a Canadian, seeing this is so frustrating. Look at the rail technology in Europe and Asia, then look at these monstrosities.
You would think the second largest country in the world, with almost all it's population running in a straight line along the border with the US, would invest heavily in an efficient rail system.

I bombed hills for almost 14 years... never came close to those speeds. The wobble issue is why I went with a dropdown design from Landyachtz in North Vancouver. Feet sit below the kingpin, making the deck naturally want to sit at it's lowest point, instead of a higher deck wanting to fall to the left or right, causing the trucks to turn.

74. spaceludes commented 10 years ago on video Self defense scam fail
Most likely a scam, I wonder if the instructor believes in what he is doing. The first thing that occurred to me was that he was using power of suggestion (hypnosis) to control his "attackers", however, if this is the case, hypnosis only works on those willing to submit. Makes no sense as a defensive skill.

83. spaceludes commented 11 years ago on video Releasing a truckload of pigeons in 15 seconds
As a child, my family helped out neighboring Vietnamese family, new to Canada. They returned the favor by giving us a few pigeons they caught in a highway underpass. It was a nice gesture, but after my brothers and I lost interest, they were messy and by parents wanted to get rid of them. We drove an hour away to the coast, let them go and said our tearful goodbye. On our drive home we reminisced about our fun times with the birds. When we arrived home, the pigeons were sitting on top of their cage waiting for us.

Looks closer to stereo-optic instead of virtual reality. VR should move 3D camera with head movement. It appears this does a little, but nothing like the VR I've tried.
Stereo-optic is the future though, no doubt about it. The era of displaying media on a single rectangular surface is coming to an end, no matter how many pseudo-3d gimmicks are added to TVs.
