It went up to 1.5 million so fast! Must have been unreal to hear the bids go up like that.

That is something really sad to see. Someone who has to watch for every penny has to sell a heirloom to someone who is able to pay $1.500.000 for a piece of cloth. Made me cry.

Even with a 30% auction fee, he'll still end up getting a million, not to bad.

839 $ a moth ... that's what he gets and he can barely make it?
I'm sorry my salary is 152$ a month... I have a hard time identifying with him :(

Anyway... the story is beautiful and he deserves the money :)

#9. I hope the cost of living is very low where you live.
$152.00 per month would not allow me to eat in my
country for even a week! :S

#9 Around here you need a minimum of 350$ per month just to stay "alive" ..and that doesnt include paying rent for a very small appartment (i pay 400$ for a small 35m² per month..Power/Heat/Phone&Internet excluded), no car, no doctor bills, insurance, etc..just for buying food and the usual everyday stuff like TP and toothpaste. And you never know when something in your home breaks wich costs a lot..or you have an accident. So 1000 bucks/month to have a minimum normal life is not so unusual in some countrys..plus you always want to safe money a bit to have a buffer just in case.

I make over $6000.00 a month (middle class wages) and am still having a hard time making ends meet. The cost of living varies greatly country to country it seems.
