Fun idea. I tried this in small scale when I was in the U.S. last year and people really are that gullible over there (which is a good thing, most of the time).
After just a few seconds of doing my best (worst) German accent though, I got so annoyed by the sound of my own voice, I had to stop. I would never be able to commit like that.
German accents are the worst. We really need to follow Skandinavia and stop translating movies and TV shows over here.

Oh, and BAN British lessons from school. They ruined the first 5 years of learning my now favorite language.

Right so you signed up for a speech 101 class when you didn't really need one then invested 4 months planning the perfect prank by going there every day and attending classes and taking the time for class projects and after all of that I think the prank's on you buddy.

#2 Gullible Americans? Wasn't it the "gullible" Germans who fell for Hitler's song and dance about them being the superior race? Now THAT is gulliblity to the max.
And don't blame the British lessons for the fact that you spent 5 years in the first grade.
