#3 If you look really close you can see the candle turn a little, very little.

#3 The candle has no reason to move with the paper... as it provides a pivot point for the paper to rotate to, using friction. 8-)

I would guess he uses a paper with a barcode/stripes across it and edited it white, he then layed another movie file on top of the first one, freezed it and played it back in the end. You see his hand moves outside of the video every time he would interact with the objects.

(You could call it Augmented reality)

There is loads of good editing involved so I give him credit for that!

Very well done!

It's easier than you think. Still camera on tripod, of course. First, record real things. Second, print a frame, and cut it very carefully. Third, place the print exactly in the right position, comparing with the frame you choose to print: this is the hard part. Use your PC to see both image with transparency and help positioning. Fourth: edit the video.

Glass of water: the paper part is play back in reverse. You carefully place the paper first, then you take it off the table.

1:07 you can see the transition from paper to real thing: shadows go from pink to yellow.
