Obviously everyone love to visit Mars and spend some time there. But spending rest of your life in that space suit and in that "little hut"? No Thank you!
First few months obviously very exciting. But after that you will realize it's just dust, oxygen mask and "hut".. That's worst camping ever! I rather to live like gypsies or rednecks lol. At least I can able to lying in the sun, walking in the rain, climbing big mountains and swimming in the sea. C'moon there is a lot you going to miss!! :) lol
But hey!! I would love to see how other people "enjoy" on the Mars! So go for it Guys!! >:)

Until Cohaagen's forces find Kuato and quell the resistance, I'm staying right here.

Sending people there just for the sake of getting there faster seems like a stupid vanity.

I'd love to watch this happening ...but the sad fact is I probably wont be alive then...I'm sixty now. I feel real jealousy when I think of what the human race will do over the next century or so....and the fact that I wont be there to witness it !

#4 make sure to deepfreeze your body. skip 2000 and get unfrozen in 2100 when they are able to do so. but make sure they have pills that let you grow younger by each day. thats at least my plan.

The whole way through this video I kept thinking the whole thing was fake, made up, a joke, falsehood and fiction.

Looks like they weren't joking :|

We traveled to the moon but didn't set up a space station.
We as a planet have difficulty feeding our people across the globe.
We have just witnessed the difficulty in landing an unmanned craft on Mars.
Yet these scientists believe this will all be achieved in just 10 years.

But even if this is possible, what plans have humankind for the welfare of Mars and what effect will it have on our own planet.History tells us science will be taken over by greedy and corrupt officials. What then?

#1 I'm sure they know exactly what they're getting into. They will certainly have trials and tests in some desert here, for a few months. But it's not a time for them to be selfish. It is a sacrifice in the name of science and the future of human race for centuries or even millennia. They will go in history as the first people who attempted and hopefully achieved living on another planet. That is probably one of the big rewards for them.
And as #4 says probably my biggest regret is that I won't get to see the technologies of the future. Or the iPhone 2465s :P

One thing that i did not hear them to mention that the Mars journey will be a one way ticket. So they will die there.

The only way this is going to work is once on mars with equipment only, is to start mining it and building underground. The conditions on mars are too harsh to be above ground. it isn't sunny all the time, it has large storms and is very difficult to be above ground. If they build a large enough structure underground in hard dense rock, and then flood it with oxygen. supply with farms, then perhaps this would work.

Either way, must mine out with machines first before contemplating adding humans to the mix.

#7 + my wife and her mother are best candidates for this mission. They just need very good motivation.
