If you look closely, he turns the hand 90° a split second after he let go of the string.
Similar to japanese archery - where they use the same practice to be able to fire a bow without a forearm leather guard

wow noone has notice tho he technically has infinite ammunition just look at whts at his feet as long as he has stones beneath him he wont run out and if he does it wouldnt take much to find more, unlike other forms of projectiles tht have to be manufactured.
