#4 your correct - the glass was probably broken before it was opened in a way that little pressure would do that to it.

#8 The bubbles push out the glass, but that is with champagne making some more bubbles. In France they used to do it with a sword.

As mentionned #9, this is a well-known technique in France, it's called "Sabrer le champagne" (opening a champagne bottle with a saber), but with a little of practice, you can do it with anything.
