It's not just the bones broken but the risk of starving to death by being immobilized without help. That, and the cost and risk for the folks who have to regularly bail out adrelenine junkies who keep putting themselves in harm's way.

#9, I agree with you it's not "fail" it's "fall" and an unlucky one. he did not do a thing to bring this to him ... besides being there in the first place... :) I,m relieved that he survived with such, comparatively, little consequences. I doubt that someone purposefuly threw a piece of ice at him... accident... if you go to the Huffington Post link above, you'll the explanation first hand, there's an interview with the climber...
