If it is a Lotus Trophy, the most incredible thing is, that the cars stand more than one lap :) Has't Top Gear told us all how notoriously unreliable British sports cars are ? :)

I'm surprised he's allowed to cut so much of the corner to overtake. His wheels were over the kerb.

I used to drive that track in one of my racing sims. I hated it, especially that chicane.

A better word than overtake would be breakaway because from the incredible starting jam, the car is finally alone on the track. I was actually expecting some other car to overtake it soon after, or at least attempt to.

That is seriously good driving. You can go to Bathurst and drive this road and it's hairy even at public road speeds.

Driving a Lotus at Mount Panorama is like having cheat codes. They stick to the road and can easily handle the section from Reid Park down to Forest's Elbow. The only limiting factor is how brave the driver is and how much faith does he have in his skills.
