A sword is an extension of the human hand. The Japanese katana is the finest sword ever produced by human hands. It is painstakingly designed to slice perfectly if swung correctly, so it is only necessary to guide the sword to the target and let it do the job for which it was designed!

If he ever comes to dinner and want's to slice the veggies I am NOT going to argue !#1 your exactly right....the Samurai sword is THE most perfectly designed and made sword there is....and in the hands of a master is probably the most formidable weapon for close in fighting ever made. Couple that with the skills in the video....and I never want to get him angry !

Yes the Ktana is a very nice sword ,....BUT. There are many others on its level and even better.,,, so many People seam to blow there load over this sword as it has been used so much in popular cloture.
Compered to other swords, i.e.. ( European) made by the celts and vikings and even arabic cultures the katana is very plan and refined but also very young in the world of swords.
Have a good look at sword history and you will find many others 500 to 1000 years older that are just as good and are even not only folded but then platted for maximum flexibility. :)

Nice, doubtful about the authenticity of this video thou the perceptual human reaction speed is about top 0,1 second and a Paintball bullet velocity is aprox. 9,1 m (30 feet) per sec.

To cut the bullet just "like that" as in this video, the bullet will travel about 9,1 m (30 feet) before it's perceptual discovered by the samurai, it will then take at least another 0,1 sec go get a trajectory of the bullet, by then the bullet have traveled 18,2 m (60 feet).

Summary the samuari got the trajectory after 0,2 sec and can now cut the bullet, the fastest possible time when the samurai can make the cut is then after 0,3 seconds, because then he have the trajectory and we assume (extreamly fast) it takes 0,1 sec to draw the sword. The bullet will travel 27,3 m (90 feet) before the cut is done and it doesn't look like they have such distance between the shooter and the samurai.

Henec this video is dubtful .
