I know it's insensitive given the casualties. But I'm sick of these vertical videos. Because of the phones, we will eventually have to mount our screens and TV's sideways to watch most of the clips.

I gotta admit that if that was a normal house/storage fire, i would say this distance is very safe.
In a high explosive risk building, then obviously, it's not... a bit of a blast, indeed very unsuspected.
Hope the girl is ok, kids have more sensitive ears than us adults, so they can more easily get damaged...

I think it was way too close. The sound reached them in less than a second, it means they were closer than 300 meters. It only looks far because of the crappy video. (in my opinion the distance was less than 200M) If you are not afraid of the shockwave, the radiant heat can be still dangerous.
