RoboBee
A tiny robotic 'insect', the size of a penny, demonstrates its controlled flight abilities. Developed by engineers at the Harvard School of Engineering and Applied Sciences, RoboBee weighs around 80mg and has a wingspan of 3cm.

Technically this should NOT be based on a bee, as bees have 2 pairs of wings...insects with one pair of wings (like you see here) include the mosquito and housefly (I know, RoboBee is is more catchy!)

Unless it can carry a beer from the fridge to the couch.. Whats the point? don't we have enuf of them damn winged critters now !! buzzzzzz........... (( Splat ))

And six months after these are in general use somebody will become a multi millionaire.....by selling fly swatters.

If they can pollinate flowers, make honey and sting you... we don't need bees anymore.
