Watching how the surgery went on, made me think of babysteps towards being cyborgs... but in a very, very good way. Being capable of artificially create something as imperative as the auditory nervous system is remarkable. That kid's life just got turned upside down.

#3 we already made steps into becomming cyborgs. Just think of artificial arms and legs today..we even can make "blind" people see shapes or replace a complete heart with a pump..Deus Ex is not fiction anymore..its near future. Sadly same goes for terminators =P
I bet one day in future we only need a brain to stay "alive"..and when that can be replaced..who knows..maybe matrix stuff will happen^^
