#(removed comment) 'it' seems to be a "she" , that would sound better,, but besides that i fully agree with you. i was afraid a couple of times she would hit the side of the pool with her head. Still amazing what this girl shows here though

Just so everyone knows, this child (Elizabeth age 16 months) has been trained by a professional ISR instructor. I, myself, am a registered nurse and my wife was a life guard for six years and taught swimming for three. not only are we both professionally trained in CPR and water safety I am certified in advanced pediatric life support. the child in the video (Elizabeth) has been trained properly by ISR certified instructors.

About hitting her head..once you are not looking she will jump off the couch and hit her head on a table..kids simply do that stuff and one way or the other they might hurt themself..dont be so oversensitive =)

Babys learn naturaly how to float, swim and dive. If you would have had kids you would know. Its not like the parents kicked the baby into the pool and see what happens. Just go to youtube and lookup swimming babys..you will find a mass of videos with mothers of newborns in swimming classes. Bad parenting is not to do that..then your kids will be 10 years old and cant swim.

Reminds me of my days when I was a young kid. My mother thought it would be a good way to teach a kid to swim by throwing them into the pool. It didn't work out that well and I'm glad my mother at least had some brain activity to realize I was drowning.

Babies are at home in liquids, just like the mom's womb. They may lack the strength to swim at first, but that develops quick enough. I was lucky enough to have a mother who loved swimming. My dad still sinks like a rock though :)

These parents have reduced their childs chances of drowning, have increased the childs lung capacity / health and have also done something active instead of sitting their baby in front of a tv to watch the wiggles to keep the child quiet.

Aaand she is going to sleep like a log. Very inspiring for new parents who are hardly sleeping due to crying offspring.
