Yes, let us all run out in the backyard and throw stones at each others! Thats safer than sitting inside all day right? >:)

Yes, outside. Let's make it easier for our children to be abducted. While we're at it, lets take their cell phones away too. Let them stay out after dark, drinking alcohol with their 'friends' and smoke crack, whilst dabbling in prostitution to fuel their smack addiction. Yes, a much safer prospect! NOT

"Videogames are one of the principal causes of child obesity"

Poor eating & exercise habits are principal causes of obesity for any age group. Playing video games will burn calories, however minimal, and not create them.

Video games are a visual media. They don't cause child obesity; laziness is the real criminal here.

Real life is the principal of insanity, drama, and gang violence

You are all wrong. It simply causes laziness. And outside is not all about gangs, Drugs, Someone taking you and raping you or shit like that...

FPS's causing laziness is least of your problems. FPS's are used to "Train" kids/teens to fight in wars and battles.

What I say is very true. Just so you know.

TV isn't the problem, it's the lifestyle it creates. I play game all day no exercise and somehow I have a 6 pack. What the hell?

@ Noureddin - I don't know where you live but here there are gangs (frikin hoodies), drugs (you name it they got it) and I'm pretty sure some of em will rape you (even guys). In some housing estates you have to be prepared to kick someones ass just to go and get a carton of milk. Besides If you want your gaming kids to get some exercise glue their keyboard to a treadmill.

@ LegendarySaint - Fuck you. If you are too stupid to be able to judge wether or not you live in a safe area (to the extent that you cannot decide whether you should let your kids out and play) you should be shot and killed, and if you have kids, they should be taken away from you.

People need to be active, they need to stop drinking Red Bu!! and all these energy drinks, then sitting down at a computer or in front of the TV because that's what causes obesity; filling yourselves with empty calories.

STOP LISTENING TO CNN!!! This is what's killing us.

BTW, this is absolutely true. If you deny it, that means, that you're not American. (in America (I know, because I am American) kids play these video games, then they walk 5 feet, hop in the car, and drive to a friends house to play more). Its fucking pathetic.

@digiD

weird when i was a kid. Cell phones were rare. I stayed out after dark.

Somehow i didnt end up doing crack when i was a kid... nor did i ever get abducted... Hell i never even got jumped or attacked.

Maybee the problem is that children are way to sheltered. Theres no better lesson then one you learn by braking some bones.

@poobaire

I don't know what are you talking about, but I play video games and I do have a normal life. I work I go to school and I hang out with people. I'm a girl too in case that might be a problem for you. I can spend hours and hours playing video games as well. I'm not fat. I weigh 120 while being 5"6 1/2. 60% of obese people is caused by bad eating habits [not enough time or money to get a healthy meal], not enough time to exercise AND NOT because of the video games. You might as well compare it to a job at the office when you sit your sorry ass by the desk and work for 8-10 hours with a half an hour break, but I don't see you complaining about this shit! Video games increase your logic, critical thinking, problem solving and management skills [of course that depends on what game you are playing].
And the whole bullshit about gangs some of the people said is also irrelevant too. I agree with you on that one. Just because people will go out it doesn't mean they will drink and do drugs BUT... in my community [although it's really safe] that's ALL that high school kids do these days. There is no way for them to get a job, there is nothing to do because they don't have a lot of money, so they each through down few bucks and get drunk or high. So there are cases that actually apply to what people has been saying, but yeah.... no crack or gangs really. just alcohol and weed mainly these days.
