I was watching this for 1:40 thinking to myself.. "come on cameraman.... pan to the left so we can actually see if its working or not..." and he finally did...

Fair play to the farmer, quick thinking to save his crop and livelihood ;)

I saw this a few weeks back... Good effort but never found out if it was successful.

I'm not sure if that was incredibly brave....or incredibly foolhardy, considering he could have so easily been trapped by the fire. Whichever the case I'm just glad it worked.

Good job and quick thinking, but it was just a big stubble fire

#4,, he was just smart, not brave or foolish, if you look at the direction of the wind you can see he will not be trapped by the fire, the fire will slowly take the field at the side he was on. i really hope this smart farmer saved his field !

#4 The problem with your statement is that it seems to me there's an assumption the govt. or fire service personnel will help resolve the problem. I think that IS the problem. All of us waiting on "officials" to fix an issue. That's just how the govt. likes it. Rely on them for everything instead of being self sufficient.

#5, #11 I am a farmer. This individual was discing down unharvested soybeans. The tracks perpendicular to the tractor are from previous trips across the field from a spray rig during the growing season. Later applications break the plant when ran over, leaving a track. If you look at the video with 16 seconds remaining, you can see he or she exits the standing crop into the harvested area of the field. NOT "just a stubble fire."
