#8 I'd take a guess and say the mass to power ratio has a lot to do with it...but as I said, that's just a guess.

Im starting to get bored with these helicopter videos. Same thing every time. Something fresh would be nice.

People just don't seem to realise that this is so easy to do, because the RC software takes care of all the work.
A monkey could fly it.

#16 Then you never flew an rc heli..even the small beginner ones with fixed pitch are not easy to fly..and a collective pitch like this is pro stuff..its not a quadro copter that flys and stabilize by itself. But who do i talk to..the typical "I know everything better and everything is is lame and boring troll"
I honestly would give you 100 bucks if you manage to start that heli..fly an even circle..and land on the same spot again. Really..if you manage to take a vid of you doing it (proof that its you required)..i will send you 100 bucks via paypal or as gift card for amazon or whatever you like =)

Thank you for the offer of $100. I could really do with that because my dog had to go the vets last week after he'd swallowed a fly swatter and I couldn't afford the bill so I had to sell my sister's hair drier to get the cash. Can you give me your personal email so I can let you know where to send the money. I'd put my address here, but you never know who reads these comments and there might be some violent people out there or something.

#18 Sure..call me by my real name. Im not getting down on your level..but yeah..submit a video of you flying a beginners heli in a circle. If you manage it, you might be able to buy your sister a new hair dryer.

Yes, I would say so.

That is a BO-105 CBS 4 Twin engine, which has a max weight of 2500kg.
The power is about 626kW. So the Power to Weight Ratio is approximately 0,25kW per 1kg.
Let´s say the Model here is an Align T-REX 500 Pro, the flight weight about 1,83kg.
The electric motor has an max output power of 2,3kW.
So the power to weight ratio of the model is approx. 1,26kW per 1kg.
That´s the huge difference that you see.
Also, you don´t have to consider the safety issue in the model. You don´t need to make every part 4-5 times stronger than they have to be in a real heli, so you can save a lot of weight...
And just to let you know, in my opinion (I have tried my luck with RC Helis...) I guess it takes you 5-8 Years of daily practice to get this kind of skills. Maybe faster when you start flying as a kid.
