Looks very promising, but I'm concerned of how the image is capture. It appears that you are required to draw in that box. If that is the case, the capture technique must be developed and refined, so it could take some funds to make it useeful.

#2 I guess you have to draw in the box in order for the system to see the full picture, and possibly display the information about the shape directly there. If that's the case, using similar algorithms as for panoramic pictures, it should be possible to "show the display" the whole figure as tiles and then have the display perform measurements at the very end.

What I'm more curious about is how could one configure this to only take into account lines drawn by the user, and not lines on the paper initially (or am I the only one here who used non white paper at school)?
