Serious question: Why doesn´t the water freeze to ice when -200C nitrogen is poured on it?

Man how awesome would it be to have a bowl of water on your table with some solid CO2 on top fogging up the floors all around :)

#4 Its not really ice..its nitrogen (we breath it each day). Its a gas that with pressure and a low temp is forced to liquid state..and then is even forced to solid state. (Dryice) Liquid nitrogen got a boiling point of -200 celsius i think (with normal athmosphere) below that it will just vaporize into its gas form again. Thats why you can also put your hand in a bucket of liquid nitrogen for a second..called leidenfrost effect. It vaporizes before it touches your skin or you even can get a frostbite.

#9 You can buy dryice online and just put a cube in a small bowl of hot water. It will produce lots of vapor that stays on the ground. My mom used to use it on her bellydance classes =P
