No matter how many of these "coming home surprise" videos I see, I can never ignore the WAR/innocent-lives-lost factor...how many children lost their families in the country he just got back from?

#2 true. but always keep questioning yourself, if his government should have sent him there in the first place.

It's not always the fault or the will of the government... some things have to be done. I would go to war if I could.

#3, #4, I know...war is complicated (controversial in this case) and a soldier is usually just doing his job...but I couldn't have worded it any differently without going all political..and it wouldn't change the fact of what I said.

Good question #5, but based from his reception, I think he might be having another before long, hehe. Sweet video.. nice warm and fuzzy/feel good clip.

I wish i could vote up #2 a thousand times. For every video like this, there is a hundred wives, daughters, sons weeping for their lost fathers. "All war is a symptom of man's failure as a thinking animal." (Steinbeck)
