I remember doing that trip when I was 8 years old...in 1960. we had a great day out! Big adventure in those day's!

You would have thought the 2013 train would have got there first, until you remember that the 1953 train had a 60 year start. Just goes to show how much faster trains are these days :S

I like the fact most of the original equipment trackside remain, and most flora survived the 60 yrs. a good historical study for die hard rail fans like myself.

Doesn't look like much changed at all.. except that people used to wear business attire & suits back then, and railroad workers look way more casual now

I'm always fascinated how the film captures wider dynamic range than digital sensor. Just look at the visible clouds throughout the trip in the middle frame and compare it to the digital shot.
