Dear American friends, here in Switzerland, health insurance in mandatory. If you cannot afford one you get help from the State.

It costs a lots a money for each individual to be insured, especially for a family.

BUT, at the end of the day everybody can access quality health care and average price as still lower than in the US...

Born in Australia, where health care is supplied by the goverment. No need for private health at all :) I've gone to the doctor, dentist, optometrist, x-ray etc all for free. I feel sorry for Americans. I hope they can eventually sort out their James and the giant health care mess.
