Evolution got it right on running...

We can do anything, from rocket science to just running. But are we really the best at being the average at it all?... Is being able to do everything the ultimate victory, as opposed to just being good in our specialty?...

how about having him run against a slightly more trained runner in stead of the average joe. if he is the number 1 record holder for running like this, that means he has been training a lot to be able to set that record.

I think the most amazing part of this is, that there are people who are desperate enough on thier search for material to make a 9 minute film about this.

... and that this makes it to Snotr...

A quite unfair comparison but hey, what strange things are we not willing to do to twist sience into something we want it to be :P

I love that a previous step in evolution is considered superhuman :D

He could probably run even fast if he was wearing Vibram Five Finger shoes. Now, as for the competitor, he seems more like a gymnast than a runner. He bend his back backwards at the end and started really really low.

I like how they can drag this out for one hour on television, with added commercials of course.

If this is considered being a "superhuman" then... <*I was about to write something ridiculous here which would probably have got me a suspension for a week or more.>

Archaeologists study human cultural artifacts. Paleoanthropologists would be the ones wondering when bipedality evolved. And they conclude it happened much earlier than Homo erectus, despite what the name implies. Australopithecines, in particular, which lived in excess of 3 million years ago, had hips indicating bipedal locomotion.

The upshot is, our ancestors were bipedal long before we'd call them human (i.e. assign them to the genus Homo).

Thanks for the great video! Our feet are really important for our health and many times we neglect them. It is important to pick the running shoes that best adapt to our needs:

Running a race on four legs sounds amazing, and it’s actually a unique skill one should be proud of. No wonder Kenichi Ito has broken the Guinness World Record for fastest 100m running on all fours. But I believe, investing in high-quality shoes is essential if you want to be a runner as ill-fitting ones can derail your fitness and cause injuries like ankle damage and Plantar Fasciitis. With proper shoes you’ll have more pleasant and comfortable experience.
