Attempted hit & run goes from bad to worse

Turns out the car was stolen. The driver was arrested and charged with criminal damage to public property, leaving the scene and aggravated assault with a deadly weapon, according to RedEye.

It's funny. If you don't read the title and description, the situation changes. Then it looks like the guy is trying to get away from a crazy taxi driver. His car driving at first doesn't seem aggressive, more like concerned and carefully trying to get away. When the taxi driver then bangs on the car, he thinks "shit, i'm getting out of here, this dude is crazy" and just tries to get away at all costs. From that perspective, it looks like the taxi driver is the crazy one.

Another perspective could be that the cab driver saw him stole the car and called the police. After that he stands in front of the car to "prevent" him from driving away. Just waiting for police to arrive. Notice that the cab driver looks back a couple of times like: where are they!

And why would you damage your own car like that when your window is about being destroyed. I would get out and probable hit the cab driver or something.
