I was lucky enough to be dropped on my head when I was a baby, I don't need any of these "helps", I just get disconnected all the time, and yeah, it is awesome. Sometimes I'm gone in front of my friends, and they bring me back, I just wanna tell them, get lost, you ruined my trip!

No doubt this experience is mind-blowing to someone that has self-medicated with physical exertion and entheogens; you are going from one extreme to the other: mindlessness to mindfulness.

Nevertheless, I hope he is able to vanquish his demons.

I agree that everyone really should try it once, just to experience it.
The hard part is finding one which is open for public use.
They too expensive for the avg. person to plunk one down in their house.
I was able to try one in college twice. The first time was one of the most relaxing experiences of my life. The second was one of the most terrifying. Sensory dep + sleep dep + caffeine was NOT a good time.
