They mean hydrogen when they say water.. some reporters/scams turned this into miracle news for uneducated ppl..(maybe Foxnews???) and wtf is HHO? this thing doesnt exist

#3 HHO is OxyHydrogen apparently. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Oxyhydrogen

they'll never approve this... simply because they can't make any money out of something that uses water instead of fossil fuel...

Just like the article #4 pointed out. There are a few things going on here.

First of all, water in its natural state cannot be used as a fuel. One first need to supply electricity to separate water into hydrogen and oxygen molecules. Then, when these two are recombined to form water, it produces combustion. However, more energy is used to separating the two than when the two are re-combined.

In other words, there is loss of energy. Since some energy must be supplied first to produce the gases, and this energy is greater than the energy produced when the gases are combined; there is no free energy. So far, i haven't seen the guy saying anything about free energy. So it is possible that the media and our imaginations blew it up out of proportion.

#6 Sure its not Free energy. But water is not a fossil fuel..it dont need millions of years and tons of pressure to become what it is, it dont pollutes, you dont have to spend billions to dig for it and risk a natural disaster and the energy needed to seperate can be gained from sun, wind, ocean turbines etc. So its not free but a far cheaper and "greener" sollution then burning fossils.

If you can create the electricity used to convert the water into hydrogen and oxygen with solar panels or wind energy, it could be awesome.

The reporter said the answer at the end of the video "a water powered Hummer for the US Military"

The US Military, that's who will have this technology, not us

it is not powered by water.

It's powered by hydrogen and oxygen (seperate), which release a high amount of energy and water when combined.
It's more expensive and more risky than fossil fuels.

#9 if you had such electricity you could use is directly, couldn't you? ;)

What happened to him? The answer was right in the video when he says that he is in negotiations with the government.

This video is a total rubbish, well its the FOX news afterall. The vid quality is like from 1960, there are no information that can either prove or disprove its a free energy (which is nonsence here at Earth with its physical laws), but its definitelly a funny video that any1 can comment without any knowledge :)
Nevertheless the fossil fuels have the most energy contained inside. We dont know any other natural substance with such energy so far. And we cannot use the inner energy of a random substance, because we dont know how to do it so far.

@4 While water can be writen corectly as HOH and its a compound, there isnt a compound HHO. Its a mixture of gases H2 and O2 at a 2:1 ratio writen this way for simplicity sake probably. Its not scientifically correct anyway..
