Situation in US with all of those homeless people is just so sick. As a European resident I see US as a big fraud land where you think you can make it big, but we can all see this doesn't work and what can happened to you if you loose your job. So many crime, so many crazy people. Not for me but I hope things will get better anyway, people deserve to live in equality.

It's not better over here. In Germany there is quite a few spots where the homeless live together and it's exactly the same. Heroin, Meth, Tilidin, Alcohol, everything that takes your mind from the crap you live in for a moment. If you weren't an asshole and got on the street because of that you become one.

I wondered why I didn't see any dogs with the homeless. They get beaten up or robbed pretty often, so they take a dog to get protection, plus people are willing to give more if you have a dog.

#2 You could not have taken a less correct view from this video. These people are not homeless from job loss. Did you not hear them say they broke probation? Homeless people are one of two things, criminal/addicts, or mentally ill. You can thank liberals for defunding our institutions and throwing the mentally ill to the streets. As for the others what would you have us do? To hell with the lot of them. The US is far and away the most generous to its own and the rest of the world alike. Learn the facts before you start denigrating the most benevolent society to ever grace this earth even with all of our faults. Our poor have far more than 99% of most of the world. I suggest you watch this. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=LPjzfGChGlE

@2 - Come on! US is not the most generous. It promotes that but in reality it is just a war oriented and resources hungry state. Please, look at the history and one example are slaves. Most of the US wealth is made using slaves and occupying other countries using and abusing their natural resources in exchange of help, but where US is not allowed then US bring war. Do not get me starting here, please. Only stupid american that is brainwashes and sees things from subjective point of view would say what you are texting here.

Those people might be on streets because of probation etc., but how many people can afford social/health care in US or how many people have bough homes and later in 20-20year period lost everything due to real estate market that artificially dropped or lost value. How many families? Criminal on criminal and this type of politics US is trying to export to other countries is just bad karma.

bye

@5 As it is clear that english is not your first language I will simply say that you are wrong on many counts and I believe you know it. I don't know where you are from but what say you go read a nice book and let us fight all the world wars, provide aid in times if disaster, and be produce the bulk of ingenuity that you like do or have enjoyed in your home land for the last 100 years. P.S. never said the US was perfect but name a better game in town!?! P.P.S. I see that you didn't name your country of origin on your profile??? Ashamed of your past???

#6 People like heyhey are mired in ignorance and do not care for what is the reality of the world situation. He probably thinks Americans went over to the west coast of Africa and captured the natives to make slaves of them when in reality it was Europeans, mostly Dutch, Portuguese, and British who bought them from tribal chieftains. Only five percent of the captured slaves were brought to North America, the rest went to South America and the Carribbean Islands.,
He most likely believes the US gets the oil from Iraq, when China actually buys it all.

@4, Um, it's not liberals who defunded the public health care system in the US. Hate to break it to you.

The problem with the homeless in USA is the lack of safety net. Just being in the wrong place or wrong color, you can be wrongfully arrested, lose your job as the cops call your boss (who the fuck gave them that right?), you lose your job, you lose health insurance, then your home. All because the system does not allow a person to bounce back, you fall, you fall all the way down unless you got lucky and your friends and relatives can pick you up. If a person does not have those, he's worth as a humanbeing drops to zero.

In more civilized countries, if you get in trouble, may it be health, you get fired cause the company is downsizing, basically anything that you can't help, you don't lose your value with the job. You get enough to get by, keep your flat, your car and your health insurance. That gives a person time to bounce back, allows to keep dignity, health and to stay sober. But the willingess to care for humanlife is dropping by every minute, your worth is your status; how much money you make define your better or worse than the next guy and if you can't make it, you get bad luck, anything then it's "I win cause you're out! Bye bye, who the fuck cares about you, you loser..." That is the attitude if the greatest nation on earth towards it's own people.

Sad, very sad situation, but very common, it's very easy to become homeless in the US, all that needs to happen is to lose your job, home, relationships....it happened to me but I did not become homeless because I found another job in the nick of time, seriously the nick of time...this was only three years ago. Unfortunately there are quite a few of homeless women in their 50s who have lost their jobs and been unable to find a new one. There is not much help out there unless you have family. This is the wealthiest country on the planet, but it cannot take care of its people. There are many out there addicted to oxy firsty and then heroine, they come to the hospitals to detox and then get discharged right back out there if not agreeable to rehab. Everyone could possibly end up in a situation like that :( :'(
Btw, it takes more than a foot of IV line of air to go into your vascular system to cause an air embolus, but still, don't push it...pun
