#1 I'm not really inclined to watch the entirety of this 24m video, so I don't know the details. But it seems pretty clear to me that yes, you can get 20 years for pretty small stuff or even ridiculous stuff. I just read about this kid in texas who nearly got 15 years in jail for ranting of facebook. So yea, don't write dumb threats or something like that if you don't have money or your life is ruined forever.

I bet it's a good piece of video, but for now, I don't have 20 minutes to waste to ratify the already known - that America's is a political and legal mess and that marihuana (in my opinion is Way bad for you, but) use is of persons own choice of the least. That's some couple videos ago, I just expressed my ... you know.. [literary word].. for those Americans, who have to give up all their rights to the police. (reason why I'm glad to be a European. (weird thing. although -e- in European is vowel, it the standard to write and speak an a instead of an "an", before it. interesting)
#3 Love the fact that I'm the second person giving the time to the snotr community to write a comment, while as a rare exception hasn't watched the video

I'm sure that everyone reading this will know Jeremy Clarkson, the UK Top Gear presenter. I don't have too much time for him, far too right-wing in at least his public pronouncements, but he does occasionally come up with a good anecdote. Viz:
He was pulled up by a U.S. police officer for a minor (as he tells it) traffic infraction, and asked the officer if they could use common sense (i.e. give him a slap on the wrist and send him on his way). The officer's reply: "We have laws. We don't need common sense." He got a ticket.
America in a nutshell... :-)

The US govt. is ruled by lobbyists and special interest groups.
The laws in place are not to stop crime but to generate revenue.
The lawmen themselves step on the US constitution in enforcement of these laws by violating the basic rights afforded to US citizens.
The current system in place is broken and in desperate need of a complete overhaul. The problem is, any overhaul would be made by the same people enforcing the broken system that already exists.

#11. ... well that comment certainly says a lot more about America, and you, than me or my country of choice.
Incidentally, there are quite a number of countries and their allies, capable of administering a sharp and effective military response to a pre-emptive USA strike. These tend to be the countries that the American rogue state steers clear of, preferring instead to exercise its cowardly military muscle against much smaller and weaker states.
It's easier that way.
