Adaptive thermal camouflage for vehicle
BAE System's ADAPTIV works by using lightweight hexagonal pixels which are electrically powered by the vehicles systems. The pixels are individually heated and cooled using commercially available semi-conducting technology. The hand-sized pixels are made of metal, so that they can sustain physical impact and provide defense against enemy ordnance.

#1 I agree with you in a perfect world.
Unfortunately our reality is that there predators out there... ie. those that would do harm to us individually or as a country.
As would be prey, we need to stay one step ahead of them in order to protect ourselves. Whether that mean arming yourself or arming your military with nothing short of the best.
Taking this away from us, only serves to benefit the predator as disarming the prey only makes it easier for the predator.
This is some space age tech!

#3 Don't be a tool.
This is amazing technology. However, it is only useful against an opponent that has thermal imaging technology. When was the last time two armies with that capability faced each other?

There is one flaw with this whole thing, I'm sure some of you people might have caught on to it already. It has nothing to do with the "technology" itself. This is like bringing up religion or politics in a way, no matter what you write someone will get offended.
#2 It kinda depends on what side of the fence you're on. You speak as you're a part of a nation, I speak as a part of the life on this planet. We're all the same, ie humans. Once we get through "you and me" mentality, mankind might actually evolve.
#3 You're right, but that goes for pretty much every nation. I can't believe there has been less than one hundred years since ww2. That's how recent that was. That worries me a lot for the future.
Everything seems to be on the decline and it's not a huge surprise since humans breed more than rabbits. It's not a bright future coming that's for sure, if we look past all technology gains, we've made so little progress. People these days are more anti-social than ever. You put hundreds of people inside a building and they barely even know the neighbor that live the floor below them. If you think sending tweets or being on "facebook" counts as being a social being, you're a lost cause already.

#4 true, 'Murica has a tendency to only attack opponents that use very low-tech weapons systems, preferably with predator drones....
and in the events that a system like this would be needed in a war...well:
"I know not with what weapons World War III will be fought, but World War IV will be fought with sticks and stones."
-Albert Einstein

#5 I disagree, it is a bright future. The light from nuclear Armageddon will be extremely bright indeed.

Yes... don't invest in war tech, let the indoctrinated religious fanatics have their way.

The only people that don't think that Americans are abusive imperialists are Americans.

#6 Iraq had the latest Soviet era weaponry and radar defense systems. You were saying?
