I believe in evidence. For example theres no oxygen on moon so there's can't be wind, so why's flag shaking?
Not to mention other 20 evidences - why's moon video is fake

Exactly. Emphasis on the word believe. Science is a religion like any other religion. Whether the science believers admit it or not. Nobody actually _knows_ shit. They just have to decide who or what they are going to believe.

Actually, scientific beliefs/theories are based on the idea of reproducable empirical data and often change when new evidence is found or a more accurate theory is developed. This is called being rational. Now when did religion ever a) admit they were off target and change, or b) rely on evidence? Religion relies on faith, which is a lovely idea and nice to have, but does not use tangible facts as a basis for belief. You have faith because you want to have faith, not because anyone convinced you to with a logical argument.
And Patriot, seriously - hating someone for that is pretty intolerant.

I strongly concur, but why can you not have faith and 'believe' in science, its not that hard a leap! The bible was written 2000 years ago, 2000 years ago they thought the world was flat, if that had been written in the bible would the Vatican refuse to believe it so? just because someone wrote some stuff down so long ago, doesnt mean its absolute, you can have faith without having to have such a bloody rigid and inflexible mind!
But to get back to the video, its funny, I am sure it was broadcast as part of a comedy sketch show too!

You seriously HATE someone for not believing that man walked on the moon?
Wow, and I though I was hateful..
Seing how America is trying to present Intelligent Design as science, I probably shouldn't take anything coming from the US as the truth anyways..

Hmm.. Polonium 210 introdused to my system and die three weeks later?
Or be inprisoned in Guantanamo Bay detention camp for several years?
Hmm..
I'll take the poison.. No doubt.. American Soldiers keeping prisoners doesn't exactly have a reputation for being gentle.. And I already have a lot of Facebook photos I'm not that proud of..

what I meant is that hate just brings you more hate, a never ending circle!
And why is it so hard to believe they were on the moon.

I'm just gonna assume that you meant it as a question (since you forgot a question mark).
Why it's so hard to believe? The almost never ending number of photos taken from the landing that you can clearly see is as fake as if they were made in mspaint or some shit.. And another thing, Soviet was leading every god damn thing related to astronautics (or maybe kosmonautics in Russia?), but out of absolutely nothing America had landed on the moon.. And at the time everyone (not currently living in the US) knew that it wasn't possible to go through the Van Allen radiation belt..
Basicly it's a shitload of reasons.. Could go on forever.. Well, not as far as the moon..

LOL .. i love it how you call him Ali all the time .. actually makes people think that he is somehow of arabic origin ... let me inform you about that name .. its latin:
Aliquantulus = little, small, diminutive, a little, a bit
so maybe you should show 'a little bit' more respect and call him by the name he chose.
and to be more specific about my sexual intentions.. when i get to heaven i will fuck jesus in the ass and giving god a blowjob at the same time and while doing that i'll be thinking about you and your big cars and big guns.

Wannabe-old-speaking is allowed, but is generally frowned upon..
From zee Wikipedia:
In the context of information technology, a nickname (or technically a nick) is a common synonym for a screenname or handle.
Nickname is a name to shorten a name. Nick is a term originally used to identify a person in a system for synchronous conferencing. In computer networks it has become a common practice for every person to also have one or more nicknames for the purposes of anonymity, to avoid ambiguity or simply because the natural name or technical address would be too long to type or take too much space on the screen.
I know you claim you're old, but did you just wake up from 10 years in a deep, deep coma?

Waking up ten years from now.. Finding out that the United States of America has become the Allied States of America and half of every American doesn't even see a difference..
And Europe has probably changed to one large individual country so that it's not as hard for Americans to learn Geography..
Or maybe.. Ten years from now Google will finally have succeded in their world-domination-strategy? I sure as hell wouldn't fight agains it..
Ah.. The possibilities..

_________________________________________________________________
The bible never says that the world is flat, actually it says the exact opposite.
Isaiah 40:22 speaks of the Earth being round.
It is He who sits above the circle of the earth, and its inhabitants are like grasshoppers,
Who stretches out the heavens like a curtain and spreads them out like a tent to dwell in.

You do know that you're reading a translated version of the bible right?
Nothing can be translated 100%.. Ever tried reading Dante's Inferno? Translation is a bitch no matter what..

also a circle is kind of a wierd thing .. the earth is a sphere.
and actually there is no 'above the earth' ... above the earth can be in any direction. so in bible words it should say 'all arround the earth' ...
curtains are made for 2D bed planes.
tents are usually standing on a 2D plane too ..i have never seen a tent that surrounds something thats floating.
what ever... that bible isnt written by god, its just written by people and people make errors. god would have known that the earth (like any other planet) is a sphere.

Ok I agree with the fact that nothing it is a translated version and that the earth is a sphere. and that it would not be above the earth but all around. But first things first even if you mistranslated (which many versions of the bible are) the general idea or thought is still there. There is no need to get to technical with the actual meaning between the words circle and sphere, because they could have mistranslated circle form the world sphere. Now about the "all around" thing if you think a little about it the sky is all around but people always say that it is up. Anything is space could be considered above you because you are on the ground and it is above our atmosphere.
I'm not a religious person but just wanted to show that alot of the ignorance like the world is flat came and still come from people how are "in charge"

nooitif ur right its not a history book its the word of God. He told ppl what to write but let them use their own words while writing it "which is y we sometimes have problems understanding it because they are talking in a way that they would understand and I dont know about u but I would have troubles understanding the chinese if i was from lets say britain." and amazingly ppl from hundreds of years before christ was born were able to write that he was going to be born. now theres no way that could be a story unless u were to actually refute the findings of scientists and archeologists around the world.
p.s. to all those crying there was no moon landing then y in the world is there an american flag sitting on it??? lol

i only started about religion because i saw one of those Jonny 69:69 quotes again.
its just a nice wrapup of older religions.. religions are always the same. it can only be true in your head nowhere else. and what 'findings' or 'scientists' are you talking about? Stonehegde? Mayas? Pagans? Greek? this is 9-11 all over again .. you believe the leaders or you dont believe the leaders. the king is dead, long live the king. i am a freethinker (no predictable sheeping included).
the difference with chinese is that everybody is able to learn chinese and after a while, even to understand it. i dont know how many languages you speak but when i first came to the netherlands i didnt understand a freakin word they where saying. total gibberish. now i can even understand farmers or old peoples slang.
thinking about it .. when i was little and my parents got something new, like a tv, vcr, toaster or stereo... they read the instructions before they touched it... i just pressed buttons and handles just to see what happends (keeping it safe of course) and i never needed a manual. had it all figured out before they reached page 20. cause with reasoning you can get very far you know. to make it short:
trial & error = life
a little simular is the mac vs. microsoft phenomenon. so many people use microsoft because they grew up with it (like me) and they say mean stuff about macs.. and allmost 90% of them dont own a mac or didnt even get a feel for it. they just fall for the same old myth's that are arround for years. i totally stopped buying M$ lies after vista and that not existing 'object recognition' BS on surface. getting a little to technical here..
i actually think the moonlanding is related to 'believe' because nobody of us could actually go to the moon and check for themselfs so we have to believe whats there and measure the facts and open questions equally. everybody carries his own truth. and if you think scientist know the truth, then you are wrong, because they wouldnt build a giant ring in the ground just for the fun of it. all powerd by assumption and believe to understand whats going on.
whatever.. peace!

Maybe some dude got pinned to a cross, but did he actually walk on water? Show me one history book that supports the outlandish shit that's written in the bible (even the original Aramaic version claims Jesus walked on water)..
And most people believe it? What the fuck?!
Do you really think most people (any percentage above 51 of earths population) believes the crazy shit written in the bible?

This should be enough about the bertelsmann thing:
"Especially in Germany, the Bertelsmann Foundation has been subject to criticism for their engangement in the political field. Their engagement in politics is an explicit part of their agenda, and they have been active especially in educational politics and labour politics, where they became well known for promoting neoliberal ideas such as an increase of competition in education and research and for the introduction of tuition fees to the German university system. While conforming with right-wing ideals, the foundation has been accused of by civil rights movements of channeling their concepts into reforms of public universities in order to eliminate traditional values such as free access to education and academic autonomy."

Surely you don't think that all the Christians believe that everything that's written in the bible is real? I'm sure that for a lot of people, the stories of the Bible have a symbolic meaning instead.
I wouldn't know for real though - I'm an atheist.
Oh and not being religious doesn't mean that we (in Europe) are immoral. It might have been so in the past but imho not today. In fact, some very radical beliefs and religions instead may lead to immorality.
back to the original topic:
While I believe that the thing is probably a hoax, I wonder how do they manage to pull this off. Some flaws in the video were so apparent. Maybe some just wanted to believe.

"As an atheist do you really think there is no God or Creator that gave us this fantastic world? Is this just all happenstance?"
-- R.O.T.F.L.!!! Thats the point of being an atheist!
Theist: a human who believes in the existance of god.
Atheist: a human who doesnt believe in the existance of god.
Antitheist: a human who believes that Theist's are bad.
Faschist: a human who believes only in his own race.
Antifaschist: a human who believes that Faschist's are bad.
So there are no Antifaschists without Faschists and no Atheists without Theists.
There is...
no god
no creator
no holy spirit
no jesus
no angels
no ghosts
no heaven
no hell
no satan
no fate
no santa claus
no easter bunny
no elfs
no flying spagetti monster
no david copperfield running through walls
no freddy krüger
no nemo
no matrix
no mickey mouse
no goofy
no superman
no spiderman
no batman
no mobi dick
no harry potter
no witches
no merlin
no monster of loch ness
no gremlins

no rocky
no it
no terminator

Wow your post just exploded of (your own) intelligence. You are so special that you know there is evil ? So you have seen evil? Like you have seen terrorists flying into wtc? ... uuh you scared little blinded kid and praying to god i would die soon? If you had some intelligence on your own you would realise, as me being someone who doesnt believe in prayers and all that other EVIL bullshit the church shoots to your head, you can just keep your religious-death-threats for yourself. Just sad to see your brainwashed bigot stuff again and again.

64. nooitaf (admin) commented 15 years ago
Plato argued that which we call evil is merely ignorance and that good is that which everyone desires. Benedict de Spinoza said that the difference between good and evil is merely one of personal inclinations: "So everyone, by the highest right of Nature, judges what is good and what is evil, considers his own advantage according to his own temperament."

66. Kasumi commented 15 years ago
Aren’t you all being remarkably over simplistic here? The words “good” & “evil” do not belong to any religion, they are words that describe mans behaviour. You might argue that they have their roots in a particular religion, but then you would have to reason that all language does so to extent. You do not need to believe in a god to be good any more than not believing makes you bad. That is childish, simplistic reasoning.
Also
“no Atheists without Theists.”
Rubbish, what I believe will never be dependant on what anybody else might or might not believe.
There is no god, so any argument that goes beyond that is simple semantics because there is no arguesment beyond that.
As for the moon landings beiong real or not, does anybody really care? If they are true, fine, if they are a lie then at least nobody got killed by this American lie, the same could not be said about many other American lies.

.. wait . let me do some math here...
all the stuff i believe can be counted, it might be a lot but its countable ..
all the stuff i dont believe is infinite...
you should at least see the difference between thinking about something and not believing it or not believing something you never thought about.
catch my drift?
fitst you whine about simplicity and then you do it yourself? c'mon
i agree partly with you on "good" & "evil" and i would say its just spiritual ( religious ) and not real ( scientific ) .

That which we call evil is merely ignorance and ignorance is real but evil is a spiritual interpretation of your own closing in that there is some overruling force (the devil) that decided that this should happen.
there is a very interesting movie you should watch, its on archive.org and totally legal.

nooitaf how can u say there is no evil? how can u explain what witch doctors do and have done? have u ever seen one? I know that u would just say that what they do is just cheap tricks and slight of hand stunts. but unless u go and see a witch doctor and try to explain evil away after u have seen one then pls stop saying there is no evil.
im watching that last link u got there that isnt that some kind anti american propaganda? my personal opinion on that video is that most of its a lie no offense pls. I'll be the first to admit that im not proud of what some of our leaders have done. this country was founded on God and the bible not on the whims of a power hungry person. some power hungry ppl have just about ruined our nation especially in the last 20-30 years about 95% of the ppl were christains when this nation was made. this nation has been a christian nation since it was born nooitaf and as far as I know were gonna stay this way no matter who gets into our leadership positions.

witch doctors use the same spiritual tricks as religions.
its not anti american propaganda. its an eye-opener for everybody (especially americans). so we all (world) be more careful in the future in what we believe. did you watch the whole movie (3hours) ? its a red line that goes from 1945 till now. and i didnt say that i praise the movie, its interesting to think about it. the other movies there are interesting too. ie: 'the trap'.
"...were gonna stay this way no matter who gets into our leadership positions."
as a nonbeliever this sounds like a declaration of war but i have no doubt about that it will stay that way. i have seen the documentary 'Jesus Camp' and i know what you american christians are capable of. the moslims are doing there propaganda job as good as the christians. we will see what will happen if religions keep being ignorant.

ummm nooitaf u said pretty much what I said u would about the witch doctors lol. my meaning of "as far as I know were gonna stay this way no matter who gets into our leadership positions" meant that americans are not going to change just because some power hungry some1 is in office ruining our country and our morals. I think u just read my last sentence and took it out of context. um btw im curious of what propaganda american christians are putting out I? actually i watched about a hour of the movie before my brain got soggy from getting bombarded with the same general idea over and over lol other than that the movie was awsome. "hits self in the head with a brick" every1 to his own taste.

'doctors' ... lol
out of context -- not at all... you said: 'america founded on god and bible... christian nation since it was born .. no change..'
this is just offensive for everyone in the US that doesnt do it the christian way.
'bombing of same general idea' ... like if you are watching a movie about birds that you get bombarded with the idea of birds all over again .. lol .. you should watch it till the end before you make a conclusion.
'every1 to his own taste' ... or there own ignorance ...
what ever, i get tired of argueing with people that dont try/want to understand.

Sorry I didn’t get back to you sooner, some of us have to work, some of the time.

Now that is what I would call semantics.
If I have never thought about a thing I can’t possibly believe in it, for the simple reason that I do not know about it, because it has never been in side my head.
If you meant do I not believe in god, along with the tooth fairy, farther christmas et al because I have given the matter thought & rejected the idea, then you are right, but, once having run the thought through my head & rejected it I don’t feel any need to defend it, I forget it & get on with my life. My wife & my friends believe in all sorts of odd things, you probably do too, but none of what you all believe should impact on me, or me on you.
John Donne was wrong, we are islands entire onto ourselves.
In answer to “old fart”
I was talking about the moonwalk so I mentioned American lies, had I been talking about something related to France, Spain, Britain or any place else it would have been that countries lies. When it comes to countries telling lies America comes high or low on the list relitive to what you call it, America or USA, it’s an alphabetical issue.

of course everybody believes there own things. no doubt. but believes are the engine of the world, so i dont agree with that island theory..
and about changing believes.. believes itself do no harm but the actions that evolve from them. for example.. there are a lot of africans that believe that sleeping with a virgin would cure their HIV-Infection. the results are quite a few virgin rapes.. i believe it would be a good idea to teach them otherwise..
believes are THE big issue of the 21th century and we all have to find ways to deal wth that.

nooitaf the problem that comes with more than 1 belief is that only 1 belief can be right. unfortunatly u dont really know who is right about what. the beliefs that ppl have are made by the reasoning of the information that they have gotten. and if some1 gets different information than the other person than who can say who was right? we cant tell who is right or who is wrong untill something happens to all partys involved like say dying or seeing somthing to agree or disagree with a theory.
take for instance a person from a rafting expedition walks down a river about a mile and turns around at a turn in the river where its hard to pass and goes back. then when the person gets back to where he/she started from theres a person who asks him/her did u see the waterfall about a mile down the river? you would probably say what water fall? ur crazy I was just down there. so you see both partys will be absolutly certain that their right but the diffence between the 2 beliefs is that one person went around the corner instead of turning around. and they will both know for certain whos right when they reach that corner about a mile down the river. the difference will be that the one who believes theres a water fall will be ready for it. btw how do u know about a african superstition? were u in africa? and doesnt ur opinion of that superstiton ruin ur opinion of being a atheist???

Both are wrong with 'arround a mile'.
"I contend that we are both atheists. I just believe in one fewer god than you do. When you understand why you dismiss all the other possible gods, you will understand why I dismiss yours." - Stephen Roberts
the problem with the virgin superstition is that they is no reason why it should work. after all its a superstition.
