Absolutely inspirational! I come from South Asia where in last few hundred years ethnic and religions discriminations have divided and driven people apart - and to see this inspiration of multi-ethnic unity is just amazing.
Well done coke! (also it's a really good advertisement idea)

I'm American, and the only thing that pisses me off about this video, besides #3's derogatory comment, is the fact that it gives the ignorant racists the limelight. Make no mistake though, just because some are too ignorant to appreciate it does not mean we all are.
To call Americans children, or otherwise put us down because some vocal morons chose bitch about this video, is equally as ignorant as those that are butt-hurt about this video. Or do you think all Americans are shallow, ignorant racist douche-bags? If so, think again.
and some of those comments in #5s link.. Yea, there are those here in America that need to evolve, as proven by their posts, but that rings true everywhere.

The song was written by a lesbian.
English is a British language.
All United States Americans are immigrants.
The term "Americans" refers to anyone living in North or South America.
I don't think Coke could have foreseen this type of controversy, I think they were genuinely trying to do something good.
Patriotism for the USA isn't just for people who speak English.
If we can't realize that the United States is what it is because of our diversity, we are too far gone.
People will complain about any damn thing these days. Too much time on their hands I suppose.

That would be like singing "God save the Queen" in Bengali...or similar.

13. blue_alien commented 7 years ago
Well, I don't mind someone singing "Gorda Stara Planina" (I couldn't write that in Cyrillic) in any language but Bulgarian if they are doing it out of their heart.

Had to long in to comment, The fact that this country is made up of so many culture and ethnicity. I saw those tweets and how people are saying HEY this commercial sucks we SPEAK ENGLISH only!, sure among each other but there are people who don't speak only English but many different languages also and this video shows the beauty of it. I find it that some people should look deeper and notice the people around them. The reactions are hilarious.
With haters sitting around still hating, Coke doing this and Pepsi being pro gay, soon they will have NOTHING TO DRINK hahaha.

A country that was founded on narrow minded people with a cause of liberty and freedom. Perhaps we can continue to promote ethic-ism and at the same time shout out against racism. We had better stand as Americans and have a singular purpose of freedom and liberty. I damn sure don't need a corporation in for the profits that started selling a cocaine laced drink to tell me what this country is about, F.., Coke I'll never by a product of their again.
The language is English and Americans don't talk like we have a corn cob up our arse. I don't give a damn who wrote the song and there were 10 million people living here who had discovered it 14,000 years ago before Europe found it where here. Many people had found it long before a lost European.

I liked America when I visited it but the coke tastes awful, they use corn syrup and it doesn't taste the same as Australian coke. For some reason they drive on the wrong side of the road as well

Coca-cola may lost some true haters and racists, but also regain some customers in the vast majority of non-racists and openminded people. I bet the haters are a minority else Coke would have made another choice of advertisement!!! They don't do that kind of campaign without thinking a lot and without extensive testing work, billions of dollars are in stake...
With this in mind, even the haters made a good buzz for Coca-cola, even it's against their will!
See, we all had had a look to this advert and saw who is against.
Very very well done.

My question is simple. I have no problem with this commercial, but I would like to know how this commercial would go over in most of the other countries if their anthem was sung in anything other than their native language. Would they even allow it to aired? Most of the detractors of this video are from places that would have to OK this with the government before airing And it would not make it.

26. fjwjr commented 7 years ago
It's really very simple. This is a song that is so loved in America that there was a movement to make it the national anthem. In the entire world there are only about 6 countries with multilingual national anthems. So, unless you come from one of those countries, kindly shut up. And if you are from one of those countries, lets hear you start talking smack about the other 190.

27. loadrunner commented 7 years ago
And again, the commercial has nothing to do with Coca Cola itself. It is just a drink, it has nothing to do with emotions or happyness.

32. imagic commented 7 years ago
alway's funny to see the stupid part of america writing that another language is a terrorist language, gladly there are a lot of smart people there who know how stupid the stupid part of their country is. but then, every country have their own stupid people. i hope one day the ones who wrote those stupid things ( as in the link #5 provided ud so kindly ) will realize that they are the most dangarous terrorists of this world.

34. jackDjohnson commented 7 years ago
I thought the commercial was Beautiful !! People of all colors and races coming together to sing a Beautiful song.. If its seen as anything else then your over seeing the beauty of Gods people and there talents !!

35. librabooks commented 7 years ago
I think all the hype is about one certain language that's missing from the others. You know, the one that's spoken by those same hate-mongers that are pissed about the song? The one that they diligently bellow at the top of their lungs at 3am, while draped in an American flag, after a night of drinking and NASCAR, with beer bottles in hand and looking for a fight with anybody that even resembles another ethnicity. Drunken-ese! They should have thrown in a bunch slurred gibberish and loud rants so that these people didn't feel so left out!

1. It's a commercial, that's all. It's designed to persuade people to part with their money for shit. Commercials are not beautiful.
2. The people of all colours and races only came together because that's what that they were paid to do. It's a job. Do you understand?
3. God doesn't exist. It's a myth that was invented to suppress and control people like.... you.

#9 I doubt any Canadians, Brazilians, Colombians,Peruvians, etc ever refer to themselves as Americans.
A person born in this country is not considered an immigrant even though their parents may be if they
moved here from another country.

39. deadhorse commented 7 years ago
#37 This thread of comments and the controversy surrounding this commercial pretty much sums up what the last line of my post said and generally what I was trying to get across:
Feuding about semantics and trivial differences is petty and ignorant. People need to wake up and realize that they are being fed their "opinions".
Unfortunately, I think it is too late.
I'll give you a vote up for engaging in conversation though.

Wow , i see the Americans really did get butthurt by my previous comment lol.. P/S it's ok, you can be upset, although nobody outside of the US cares or understands why =]
P.S America the beautiful isn't your anthem, it's just a SONG.
Your anthem, is Star spangle banner, now go grip your pillow tight, and weep.
Night.

Look, if you had one shot, or one opportunity To seize everything you ever wanted. one moment Would you capture it or just let it slip? His palms are sweaty, knees weak, arms are heavy There's vomit on his sweater already, mom's spaghetti He's nervous, but on the surface he looks calm and ready to drop bombs, But he keeps on forgetting what he wrote down, The whole crowd goes so loud He opens his mouth, but the words won't come out He's choking how, everybody's joking now The clock's run out, time's up, over, bloah! Snap back to reality, Oh there goes gravity Oh, there goes Rabbit, he choked
He's so mad, but he won't give up that Easy, no He won't have it, he knows his whole back's to these ropes It don't matter, he's dope He knows that but he's broke He's so stagnant, he knows When he goes back to his mobile home, that's when it's Back to the lab again, yo This whole rhapsody He better go capture this moment and hope it don't pass him

#49 I'm not a passive viewer, just commenting on the absurdity of it all.
You might be right, but occasionally I like to think not ALL advertising is as corrupt as I fear it is.
To sell MORE cokes? Coke doesn't need to advertise. There are plenty enough addicts to keep them in business for the next thousand years.

#50. Have you never heard of Pepsi?
In taste test after taste test, Pepsi scores higher than Coke.
Coke know it, and they're scared shitless of losing market share to Pepsi.
And that is why they bombard the gullible fizzy drink buying public with their brain numbing ads in an effort to persuade people to buy more of their shit.
Get back to me if you're still confused.

America, showing its true face. I'm out, not wasting my time on trivial childish nonsense. For a country born on mass genocide ( that you actually celebrate lol ), in a foreign land, where none spoke English, yet you complain that a " company " gets other languages to sing a song, is insulting to those who took the time to sing it. You really don't like languages other than English do you #43 , racism is strong everywhere.
Muricuh, proving multiculturalism simply isn't working yet for those " special few ", but insist singing" God bless Americuh " at every opportunity. ( Actually, the acts of a few do not represent the masses so i should be more accurate, my bad. )
Grow up.
Quit your crying, other people who are legitimately in " your " country, and have the right to love it as much as anyone else, regardless of language barriers. The song is called " America the beautiful ", not " America the beautiful, this song can only be sung in English as not to offend the foreigners that founded it " ( See what i did there? )
The only country on earth, around for 250 years, and at war for 230 of them... The attitude doesn't really surprise after that snippet of information does it?
Congratulations on alienating the masses of America based on a " song ", sung with a different language.
If America truly believes itself to be great, this shouldn't even be an issue.
Thank you for making this country look completely intolerant.
Have a nice day.

#52 You might go back and read MY posts....I never gave an opinion about who-sang-what-in-which-language. Someone stated that anyone from South or North America is called an American. I did not agree (because that is not the case)and then you go on a rant like a child.
Commercials are made to entice people to buy a certain product, like this one from Coke. I prefer Pepsi so this one made no impression on me and I did not mind the other languages used in the song.
Multiculturalism does not work in most countries,by the way.
As an example, just ask the French,English,Norwegians,or Swedes how it is working out with Muslims.
Some cultures are just not compatible with others.
