Building nuclear weapons is very difficult and extremely dangerous.
You really don't want people tinkering with this stuff in their garage.

The problem is you don't need a nuclear bomb to make an area uninhabitable, just a dirty bomb is enough, and they are frighteningly easy to build.

looks like you need a lholy lot of space and even mre energy to start this process. this might be the reason why the us always claims to know where other governments enrich plutonium.
