Yep, we are the ones who should wake up.. >:)
You do know your own history right? It wasn't exactly the elite Europeans that emigrated to the US.. The elite stayed in their own countries in Europe, while the poor bastards who were last in school (and couldn't afford anything) took a boat trip while hoping that they would see the promised land.. Kinda like the poor American bastards nowadays that pays some fraud to take them to another planet where they can cure anything.. Only difference is, they died holding on to the secret that there was no promised land what so ever, since they couldn't afford the trip back to Europe. So they made their own kids believe that their country was the greatest thing ever, and that learning things about other countries isn't important since your own country is superior.. And the big bubble continues..

But thanks by the way, for keeping the terrorist occupied. I wouldn't like it if they found out where true personal freedom is.. Well, almost total freedom.. Not as free as Holland, but a hell of a lot more than America.. :D
(And I lived in the US for two years because of work)

NOTE: This is my own personal opinion, NOT the official opinion of Snotr.

9/11 was not masterminded by Osama bin Laden. 9/11 was masterminded by the US government. Think about it. We have the most secure fucking country in the world. Nothing happens that we don't know about here.

The iraq "war" is nothing but a means to an end. What a waste.

Not to mention that a lot of the money spent goes to Haliburton, based in Houston Texas (same state as the Us Président !)

A company formerly directed by M. Dick Cheney, Us Vice president.

During the war business must goes on ! Or, should I say, because of business war must goes on ?

That's only the financial cost of the war. For the real cost of the war, go to www.xs4all.nl/~stgvisie/VISIE/extremedeformities.html

Warning, it is not pretty. This is the USA's shame, one which no-one seems to want to know. Will the war prevent another 9-11? Was a dictator removed from power? Who cares, when the cost of all of that was that the common folk, the innocent civillians of Iraq - the ones the USA ostensibly went to protect - have to deal with the reality of what the US driven war machine left behind. Oldfart, USAnumber1, and all you other chest-thumping patriots, this fact remains - You left behind a legacy of pain and suffering in Japan with your nukes, in Vietnam with formaldehyde, and now in Iraq with your depleted uranium, and that's only the start of the list. You think you are justified in what you do but the reality is that your country simply has no honour.

#(removed comment)... What did/does 9/11 have to do with the War in Iraq? Surely it was just an excuse for Baby Bush to try to finish what Daddy Bush couldn't.

There are bigger problems in the world to be addressed: of course, not all of those problems have such lucrative side-issues.

As an aside: for all it's spending, the US war machine is, on the whole, pretty lame against these so-called insurgents. How many years do you think you'll stay in Afghanistan before someone realises that the Russians were there before you and they couldn't get anywhere either?

Oldfart, your comment on 9/11 is so ignorant. How would pulling out of Iraq cause another 9/11. If anything, it would lessen the chance of another one happening as the Americans wouldn't be invading their country and aggravating them. The fact that you think terrorists and islamic fanatics are a massive problem is another sign of your ignorance. The amount of people who are like this are just a very very very small minority and there are much bigger problems in America and the rest of the world.

And I don't understand how Americans can say that they are fighting in Iraq for their freedom? How the fuck does that work? If anything, you're in Iraq fighting for oil. Until you start actually learning about other countries and their cultures and traditions, you should just shut the fuck up as you don't really know what you are talking about.

Also, the belief that "the US is the biggest example of freedom and personal choice in the world" is completely unfounded. You may have freedom of speech but many other countries have basically the same thing. And it's not even a necessarily good thing as it allows racism, nazi and other idiotic views to be openly expressed without reprimand. And if anything, that makes it less free as people are openly prejudiced against other. That is not a good thing.

America

The Epitome of Ignorance, hollowed by years of self-centered obsession and pumped up ego.

The Misused paradise of natural resources and outstanding cultural diversity wasted on diversion within the populace, racism, prejudice and the socio-economic state of the nation.

If anything the United States of America is living in a constant state of denial. The only thing keeping the American bubble stable is the fact that if it blows so does most of the western world, mostly China.

A nation of one state. Denial...

But that's just my opinion. Rofl free expression and all! :D

This type of war can never be won, it's just an exercise in inflicting damage on each other. Look at history, Russia had to pull out of Afghanistan, America had to walk away from Vietnam, England had to pull out of most of Ireland. Powerful countries throw there might at poor farmers and fall flat on there face. Most of the battles they fight are against people who know there land intimately, they move in inflict damage and are gone back to there normal lives in a heart beat. My great grandfather was a member if the IRA during the occupation of Ireland by England in the early part of the last century, he went about his daily business after spending the morning being a sniper, he spent his life under the noses of the occupiers never getting caught. Unless you want to line every one up, men, women and children in Iraq and shoot them there will never be an end to this. Better America bring there troops home now and use them and the money they save to better the lives of all Americans within there borders

First let me say all you American haters can suck it and suck it hard! I think that looking back we should have never invaded Iraq, but since we did we have to see it through to the end. There are too many potential global disasters if we pull out too early. Just look to Iran, if Iran gains control of Iraq oil will be 200-300 dollars a barrel and the entire world will go into a depression. Iran will definitely attack Israel, and Israel will respond with it's only option NUKES. This will drag the entire world into a war where millions millions will die. Before you bash this idea read up a little bit the president of Iran who denies the holocaust ever happened and on a daily basis calls for Israels destruction. Also if we went to Iraq just for oil why am I paying 4 dollars a gallon, and how come they're exporting contracts to India and China? If only we would drill here in the states more, but it is definitely more important to find alternative fuel sources. Oh and also Americans are self centered, etc., etc, because we are better than most other nations. Superior health care, better living conditions- hell even I our most poor have air conditioning color T.V's cell phones and computers. We don't learn much about Europe because what have you done lately??? Zero zilch except spew your anti America hate and jealousy. We are better that's why even in these biased forums you still cater to us by speaking English OUR language. Anyway I know there are many many wonderful Europeans if I offended you I apologize, but for the haters go to hell!

Ali my family came to america from england on the mayflower and they were rich in england the reason they left was because they were not allowed to worship God.

guys the reason that this war is still dragging on is because of spindle brained idiots that we americans elected that think they can command armys better than the generals that have been trained to command. from what I hear from our boys over is that we could win if they would let them go and search for hostile militants.

as far as those who are ashamed that america invaded iraq have u forgotten 9/11? that is exactly what our boys volunteered to prevent from happening again. as far as I know we have no troops in iraq but volunteers. and im proud of those that are selflessly endangering their lives for the rest of the world

umm as for those numbers just check and see how deep in hock this nation is thx to thimble heads that never learned to spend only what they have. these millions are just a fraction of what is spent believe it or not

"The cost of the war is something we can tolerate considering the alternative of letting another 9-11 happen in the US. The Twin Tower murder/suicide event cost billions and is not over yet. The pussies who want to pull-out of Iraq and who made this little video are not the 'cream of the crop' of Americans. Most people just want peace and hope that if we are nice to the enemy then they will be nice to us.....it does not work that way. The US is the biggest example of freedom and personal choice in the world which makes us the target of the Islamic fanatics who want Sharia law to be the law of the land. Wake-up people !!!" -OldFart

o...m...g... This is why americans look stupid is cause f-tards like this guy.

9/11 WAS an inside job. This shit has ALREADY been proven. you indenial piece of shit. GET OVER IT. muslims are peaceful. Yes, There are SOME that crazy but the other muslims know those "Some" are making all muslim look bad.

I'm REALLY sick of idiots thinking 9/11 was done by muslims. NOW THAT IS CRAZY... not the "9/11 inside job" being crazy.
Its like opposite day or something.

And don't pull that that ignorant "Liberal" crap.

Come on. WAKE UP... Also, OldFart You said: "The US is the biggest example of freedom and personal choice in the world which makes us the target of the Islamic fanatics"

First off. THANKS to the IRAQ WAR & GOVERNMENT freedom of americans are being taken away. Plus the fact that your moronic empty head of your actually think muslims would attack someone cause the person they are attacking has FREEDOM? WTF??? What kind of ignorant jackass would think that? omfg...

I'll just stop there... Oldfart is lowering my IQ... omfg...

On-topic:

I believe in open and honest debate - but in my opinion this video leads the viewer to believe that the vast amounts of money involved are PURELY being spent on killing and destruction (It chooses the word War over the word Occupation, it suggests what else the money could buy without mentioning exactly what it is being spent on).

In reality most of the money being spent is on security and infrastructure, which, regardless of the reasons and legitimacy of the war - are making that region of the world a better and more stable place.

The video does however highlight what else the money could buy if it were spent at home (in the US) - this must really shock American tax payers.

You are the perfect example of the Pro-american redneck i love my country type. You think that your country is right in everything he does because you believe blindly what they say on TV. Let me guess, you also think its normal that your contry is one of the few that didnt sign the kyoto agreement to try to reduce the CO2 emissions, of course america MUST pollute if you want to be competitive... And you also think america's fight in iraq is justified because you want to install peace in the world... hahaha... you just want the oil.
Please stay in you so beautifull self-centered country and dont bother us.
