I did something similar (I didn't need to pass the hose through the car though) when the queue to the pumps for the right side tanks (like mine) was far longer than the other queue and several fools laughed but I didn't care; I was out of there in 5 minutes while others wasted at least 20 minutes more for sticking to the norm...

Here is an easy way to remember folks which side your tank is on ..... Look at your fuel gauge and if the small fuel pump on the gauge is on the right then the tank opening is on the right ...same if it is on the left then the tank filler is on the left. ..Simplessssss :)

#6 That is another false bit of information that has been going around for the past few years on the Internet.
While it may happen to be correct for some cars by coincidence, it is not the rule in general; kind of a 50/50 chance.

#6 must be a bit more than chance. I am 56 past my test a1 18 always had cars and it has been correct for everyone..Thumb that down assholes.
