Its a pity, it appears that nobody is doing any serious serious research as to what part of the mushroom it is that kills the pain, if they could find that and remove the psychotropic part surely that would be a good thing? Or maybe its just big business doing its usual thing...I.E. anything for a profit, finding something that actually WORKS seems to be pretty low on the list of priorities.

It's a tragedy that ignorant people that get in positions to make laws come before scientists and patients.

Most drugs are medicine and most illegal drugs are safer then the pharmaceuticals. The phony war on drugs is all about money and control.

You know, i've used two medicines. It were SRR's if i am correct. They are antidepressiva. After a year i did not need them anymore and a year later i had my life back. But, the first 2 weeks i've used them my body and mind needed to get used to it. It was very heavy, it made me sicker those weeks. Even suicidal an such. Absolutely terrible. After that it got better. But im convinced that some medicines to more harm then some drugs. And i am also convinced that there needs to be a revision on the use of some illigal drugs. So that they become legal under certain circumstances.
But then there are addicts who use "medical" drugs to feed their addiction while they are not il from "natural" stuff. And those people ruin it. And often i think the internet is promoting drug use these days.
When they going to get looser on medical drugs they need to keep monitoring the use and the users....so that the system can't be misused. I know it's not easy but i think that's the way to go right?

I hope some chemist can find the chemical that helps from the mushroom & make it available to all!
Of course the government will want a BIG piece of the $$$ it costs.

#4 You were likely taking SSRI's 'Selective Serotonin Reuptake Inhibitors' a treatment for depression etc. A lot of anti depressant medication can take a week or more to start giving you any benefits and some can actually make you feel worse for a short time. A good Dr would be able to prescribe a second short term medication to help you through this period. :)

I couldn't help thinking that his mental attitude about the mushrooms must impact the trip. If he set things up properly, with the right lighting and music, he could make things so much more enjoyable.

He takes them in a very strange way, as if he must give himself a hard time because they're considered drugs. Perhaps he feels he has to do it in that way to avoid any possible accusations of only using his headaches as a pretext to get out of it.

I'm glad he at least gets relief from the headaches. They seem horrific. They closest I've ever come to something like that was a severe sunstroke; an experience I'd never wish to repeat.

the other side of the medal is that there is a lot of romantic superstition about most kind of drugs, espacially cannabis. Everytime i see this sentence that drugs work better than pharmaceuticals the very next thing that is brought to the table is medical marihuana. like everything that affects your brain, you should inform yourself in detail how it works and why you should take it.

before downvoting someone who speaks out against cannabis, ask yourself if you are 100% sure you know which harm it willdo to your brain in 10 years, as short term effects seem to be to be neglected.

The problem arise when someone who isn't having problems start to use these drugs. That's why we have laws in the first place.

Let's say some teenager with a drivers license use these mushrooms. They start driving, they drive past a school, kids are going home, they cross the street and... I don't need to go any further.

When you're under the influence of drugs your perception of the world isn't what it normally is.

I believe you all know this quote, but feels appropriate:
WHY AREN'T WE FUNDING THIS!?!?!?!?!

All about money ! look at the list of pharmaceutical companies and how many millions they make per year, how much tax alone does the government make from just one company ?
They do not fund cures

#14 The pharmaceutical companies make more profit per year than the car industry! :S
