First taste of chocolate in Ivory Coast
Farmer N'Da Alphonse grows cocao and has never seen the finished product. "To be honest I do not know what they make of my beans," says farmer N'Da Alphonse. "I've heard they're used as flavoring in cooking, but I've never seen it. I do not even know if it's true."

Is it good that the guy has enlightened them that way? Sure, it's only chocolate, but I guess it's the equivalent of a sick rap video with all the things in this world that you can't afford. I'm all for equality, but these people seemed relatively happy and he made them dream about things that most of them cannot achieve - after all, ignorance is bliss... or maybe I'm too pesimistic

#4 The difference between this and a sick rap video, albeit many more, is that here you actually get a taste of what's being rapped about. They all seemed very pleased with actually tasting the fruit of their labor, and I'm pretty sure they're all happy knowing what they work for now. One of them even curled up the paper to take home and show his kids, I mean, come on...

#5 That's exactly what's wrong with it. They get a TASTE, the guy is gone and they go back to their lives - only now they may feel that something is missing. (Hey! It's like drugs! )
Also you can get a taste of a glamorous lifestyle of a sick rap video - rent a boat, supercar, drink some funky expensive champagne with some hot girls - but then eventually you are back to your old life when you can't afford it anymore The same way this guy just rented them some chocolate which they will probably never taste again.

#6 Have you never heard the saying "Better to have loved and lost than to have never loved at all".

White man comes abroad, emptying a country's natural resources and sentences the nation to a never ending debt? Makes me sick, of cource we have a responsibility!

This just shows that education is placed in the wrong places. I know that chocolate is made of cacao beans. So do most people where i live, it's just common knowledge. But how come it's common, if not the entire world knows... I would gladly sacrifice my knowledge of cacao beans if these people could have gotten it instead...
