If you've ever shot a rifle vs. a handgun, you will understand just how much more difficult it is to shoot an accurate shot w/ a handgun than it is w/ a rifle due to the shorter barrel. Of course then there's also the recoil to contend with.
This is an impossible shot and he actually hit it... Simply amazing.

#2 the recoil is just viable for a second shot and re-aiming. The recoil doesn't affect the bullet trajectory once it's left the barrel. You're right about difficulty tho, not arguing there, handguns are hard to fire at long distance targets for sure, and at this distance, i think most people would miss indeed.

90% skill and 10% luck...
Too many factors involved with recoil/wind speed/ variations on bullet manufacture (no 2 bullets are exactly the same)
Seen a vid once of a gun clamped in a huge vice and they shot 6 shots and most hit different places over 500yards,,
I reckon if He had just 6 bullets and 6 balloons He would only hit 2 of them....
I admit I would most likely hit none
On this take He got it on the second shot but how many takes did they film beforehand..?

I chose to believe this is real, and I am very impressed by it. This is indeed an "impossible" shot.
However, I always like to be skeptical of things. There's a number of factors that may not be, but could be, hidden to us viewers. Such as, this may not be his 2nd attempt, but 200001st attempt. We don't know. Second, it may not even be his bullet that popped the balloon. For all we know, someone else sat somewhere near and popped it with a silenced weapon.
In short, this is an impressive feat, but it lacks evidence/proof that it really happened. But as I said, I chose to believe it.

#6 I never said this wasn't real.. just even a skilled marksman would miss more often than hit with a handgun over a long distance...

I cry BS !!! For starters You can't see a balloon 3,000 feet away. He claims to be aiming 80 yards over the target yet he is holding nearly level. And lastly if he could really do this he would have had People watching if not Guinness world book there to get the credit.

#9 is right, the round hit low to the left and fragments from it popped the balloon. You can see it clearly @ 1:06 in the inset of this vid.......

But even hitting the steel plate at that distance is pretty good.
