This is bad parenting on so many levels.

This is not the way to deal with it. For starters, the parents should have intervened much earlier, before there were so many games. Why even allow a console in the first place? This isn't even about the games (all is good in moderation), it's about teaching your child values and that's where the parents evidently failed many years ago.

Driving a machine toward a kid is reckless. What if he had thrown himself forward onto the pile to protect it? That's what I'd have done. Granted, the kid wouldn't play more games if he lost both his hands but that's probably not what the dad had in mind.

Horrible.

My parents did this to me once, I remember going to my room and they had sale most of my stuff to pay a rent :) Only the posters where left and some audio discs :P

I got back to school, and now I work as an engineer and now I thank them for that.

Maybe not the best way to teach things but yet it was really effective for me ... it was a life changer haha :)

I guarantee it's not fake. I have seen similar parenting myself. Horrible parenting though.You can't teach respect and responsibility to your children by being cruel, disrespectful and unkind yourself. It creates hate and hostility. The Dad is a jerk. If I was his son I would move out as soon as possible. Totally agree with #14.
