A little too graphic for the young children who see this on tv.

Growing up in Northern Ireland I've become used to these type of adverts. It's meant to work as a shock factor, the number of road deaths has (nearly) doubled in the last 2 years in Northern Ireland (31 in 2012, 61 in 2014 [to date]).

Jesus! That is *powerful*!
I'm from NI too, but I doubt I'd ever get hardened to that sort of advert. Pity that (according to #4) it doesn't seem to be as effective on the numbnuts who ignore it.

I only have a small comment, just replace shame on you with something like

fuck you piece of shit, it would be more appropriate for general audience

#7 Thanks, I see what you mean. 31, 41, 61 fatalities in the past 3 years, and the 61 is only for three quarters of 2014. Shocking.

I would have put some kitten and puppies scattered in-between the children and maybe a few squirrels to have a bigger "impact".

Instead of just downvoting my comment, why can't someone actually reply properly? I am actually asking why they are using the "shame on you" part cause i really don't get it.

#12 I've given you an upvote. I can't see any harm in your comment and I don't know why 5 people (at least) would take offence. No pleasing some people... :)

I reckon "Shame on you" fits the bill, since anyone risking other people's lives should be ashamed. Basejumpers I respect - doing something daring but not over-risky (usually) they'll harm nobody apart from themselves. Unruly and careless drivers are a danger to everybody else.

If a car going 1mph/kph over the speed limit were struck by a drunk who swerved into the wrong lane, they'd attribute the accident to speeding.
