#1 I would have said nope too before I saw this video. Other arthropods are OK to eat because they don't have fangs and they clean themselves. Spiders don't clean themselves. But now that I have seen them de-fanged and washed thoroughly I think I might try it if I ever get the chance. Oh, also important is to cook off the hairs. Those hairs are spiky and can irritate a human if ingested.

I remember reading that eating spiders doesn't have a long tradition, relatively speaking. It supposedly started during the time of the Khmer Rouge, when there were bad food shortages, and only recently became popular.
