Awesome stuff. But I wonder how much attention he was paying on the road when gunning it down to the cops. He could have knocked down a child or cyclist.

#6 Agree - the driver could (and should) be charged on vigilantism.

It doesn't look like he has any reason at all, it's certainly not self-defense, nor defense of anybody else. The thief was stuck pretty well, and couldn't reach anything from where he has -- except perhaps for the door's safety release...

But damn if he didn't deserve it!

@7 everyone stole something once in his life -> imagine that day someone CRUSH your hand with a baseball bat, and you are crippled forever...

@8 will if every one got his hand crushed no one would have stolen would they, imagine going to the street without worrying anyone would steal any thing from you. I rather live in my own imagination O:)

#6 Well, if you've been in a situation like that, it is better to anticipate. It is called survival. You never know what people have with them, it could be spray, a knife, a gun... And with panic, they can do stupid things. So, it least the driver prevented something like that to happen.
Its cruel, but don't steal and it won't happen to you.

#12 i'll have to agree, while violence isn't always the solution i can't find myself having much sympathy for a criminal.
