It would be even better if it didn't cost $200! :O
Very cool though....I'm thinking about making it in CAD and 3D printing it for 20 bucks. :D

Considering potential lawsuits from guests or employees if they trip, $200 is nothing.

I was just saying it needed a longer handle when they must have heard me. Guess this is the end of the Gaffer Boys. :) :(

Awesome invention, but where I live it is forbidden by law to lay cables over a floor(even when taped) in public or working areas, every room or hall where people can walk. We need to run the cables around the walls, or ceiling.

0:55 would be a big problem.

Interesting but at studios I've been to the cabling fixed upfront below floor or sideways, then at the office the plan is to fix this beforehand, so this might be a costly temporary solution. Good tape is not cheap!

Though still a good idea :P

Two questions, why would I want to stick cables to the carpet with gaffa tape, and would I do it so often that I would need a machine for that?

#13 Its for events..Concerts..Conventions. Every place you got a lot of electronics running for just a few days. Good convention centers already got cable runways embed in the floor..this is a quick sollution for improvised spots. I worked for an event manager and taping all the cables for power, sound, video somehow that its secure and nobody wil trip over it or rip it out by acciden was a pain in the ass. 20% getting stuff from the trucks 10% setting it up 70% secure the cables. We also often had companys hire us that always got a blank meeting room and we prepared it for their needs..presentations, video conferences etc. So we set everything up to their wishes and next day we ripped it all out again for the next thing to happen.
No use for private..but for some jobs this is such a relief.
