I would have liked him to have found the scammers home address, gone round and set fire to his face.

This guy has way too much time on his hands.
I get these kind of calls from time to time. The conversation usually goes something like this:
Him: "There is a problem with your Windows computer"
Me: "My Windows computer?"
Him: "Yes, Windows XP, there is a problem which must be fixed immediately"
Me: "Goodness me! That's amazing. Because I'm running Linux."
Him:"............. click!"

I was getting calls like this, my steps to hopefully deafen the scammer:
* Download tone generator app on smartphone
* Receive call from scammer
* talk very quietly so they're forced to turn their headset volume right up
* Play 4kHz tone right into the mouthpiece (4kHz is pretty much the most painful sound you can make)
No more calls since...
