#1 since they were videoing it, it might have been intentional to miss. Pretty wild hiding in plain sight.

I wouldn't call this "camouflage" but viewing stationary/resting animals from a very long distance through a blurry telephoto zoom lens in a compressed video...

#2 Videoing a hunting expedition to be shown on the Outdoor Channel is very common and could be what was going on.
Most wildlife videotaping crews are not carrying high-powered rifles too.
