They said it was a huge asteroid that in case it would had hit the ground, half of Russia was gone. Here's why the impact never happened: http://goo.gl/3KVLy9

Looks to be terrestrial in origin, light reflected off clouds.
See these other angles....

Note the very bright light and fireball erupting from the ground below the glowing cloud.

Meteors dont give you several glowing flashes ahead of time to get your camera ready for the big one...

I see something similiar every week, near me. There are a lot of gas drillings, and they release the pale or overpressure gas by burning it. When it is dark, it sometimes looks like armageddon.

well, if it really was something from outer-space, then nasa/esa (and what they're not called) would be all over that place, plus endless news reports

Could be moor methane who is in charge here. Can be wrong - but it does not look like another metheorite like the one russians had in Chelyabinsk, nor the military failed rocket launch. Boloto Tangol Swamp - near Sverdlovsk - pretty huge one. Just a guess.

#1 I'm from Finland and i'm getting pissed about this anti-Putinism. I think we got better things to do in this world than another Cold War etc.. He's NOT a totally bad guy.. We all have our stands, where we come from and I hope that Obama and his staff will also realize this and don't be so freaking 3rd grader about this shit.. Putin, I think, is trying to redeem a greater Russia, what Yeltsin drunk to a shit hole! And now when he has tried to do that, and perhaps even succeeded some bit, seems like this whole Ukrainian-thing was made up from somewhere to press Russia once again to the limits and back to the hole where it just crawled up.. I hope i'm not alone with these thoughts..

Sorry being so political in snotr.. :(|)

Your're not alone with these views, #10. There are still some of us who see things from different angles, not just one, like most. I don't think Obama should get the blame for anti Putin or anti Russian sentiments, it's mainly the average ill-informed citizen that should get the credit for that.

#10 I think you've gone but wondered if you were eating your words at the moment. Just to stay on topic for a moment, what would I think if I saw that at the moment I would have two initial thoughts 1) That Mad man in Russia finally pressed the button and 2) That Mad man in North Korea finally pressed the button. Then I might realise it was just something burning up in the atmosphere and go back to driving in the pitch black with poor headlights. 8-)
