Euclideon SOLIDSCAN

Euclideon SOLIDSCAN takes an ordinary laser scan and enriches its resolution by around 200 to 1000 times, The data compresses down, and runs in Euclideon's Unlimited Detail engine, using Unlimited detail's streaming system - loading scenes in less than a second.

Regarding games:
Euclideon will be releasing two games in 2015 using this technology and are currently open for investors in its games division.

That church is beautiful inside. Anyone know where it is located?

So while I hope this is real, I am skeptical because that looks REALLY good.

Everything is perfect, just adjust the angle of the field of view and you have a perfect digital view of reality. Impressive.

#1 Seems to be the St Peters Church in Vienna, Austria and St. Martin's church in Wangen/Allgäu Germany

#6 Really? Took me some time to think what to answer to such a wonderfull comment..i really had a hard time deciding a reasonable answer. After throwing aways the first 3 drafts and meditate a bit..i had a sip of my beer and thought to keep it simple:

Are you that stupid or is this a failed trolling attempt?
Go home..youre drunk.

Looks absolutely stunning! Can't wait for this kind of technology to reach video games.

#6 it probably couldn't be used in action/shooter games since they couldn't make the surroundings destructible...unless they actually destroyed the real location and laser scanned the resulting rubble :S

#8 Yup.. the use for games in this kind of detail is far from reality. The only thing possible atm is using terabytes of data and compress them in a way that its lag free streamable for things similar to google streetview (just a tiny fraction of the point cloud gets loaded into the RAM..so there isnt even a need for a killer GPU..work can be done in the CPU (Multicore ofc). But to take this video as example..the lights are and for now will be static, no animated objects etc.. So till this will be used in games..a decade may pass. A simple game would need to be sold on its own harddrive if you think that some games today already need 20gb =P

What i see a nice use for at first would be with the Oculus. A complete scan of places like the church or other impressive buildings..or museums..or other building you will never see in your life. Or maybe for the CGI movie industry like pixar..saves a lot of rendering time
I still see it as tech demo..but 10 years ago nobody could imagine what 4K games look like today..and it slowly becomes standart now..computer tech grows expotentional no doubt =P

Guess Rapists and mass murders have to wait a bit till they get proper training..esp rapists need so much training..they cant train without a good video game :S

Not bad but I feel that light interaction with subject is missing. It lacks of dynamic.
Besides the high resolution and the 3D mapped thing, it looks like good old Quicktime VR to me :D

This "engine" has been in the making since 5 years ago, as in it was ready then but was never showed publicly because it most likely doesn't exist. These are just "commercials" to get more money for this scam. Wiki it and look for the other videos from years past.

I hope I'm wrong
