Yeah people get sad or angry watching this... but i wonder how many remember that feeling next time they have to deside to pay that little extra to improve these animals lives.

Quantities grow and prices decrease. the only way to do that is by degrading quality of the product. in electronics and vehicles it means they die younger. but in live stock it means they suffer more and die younger.

The tail snipping reminded me of how they forcefully circumcise children without their approval. It's a cruel world we live in, regardless of what type of beast you are.

#4 I just had ham for dinner and it was soooo good.
I think the forced female genitalia mutilation in the Muslim world is
far worse than what is done to some pigs. It is downright barbaric.

#2 You're fooling yourself if you believe this is limited to just the US.
Nice try though...

#2 Well as I'm sure you know Walmart is ASDA in the UK. Makes you wonder how different the treatment of these poor creatures are than in the USA. I do find it staggering that the chairmen of companies like these can stand up in front of their shareholders at the AGM's knowing that this is part of where their profits come from. Walmart shareholders should make a stand as should the bosses of Walmart. You are trading in blood money and it's shameful. A pox on you all.

#5 I don't know quite how to react to your comment.
The first part is what I'd expect - a throwaway supposedly-comic shrug. Did you actually watch the video? Anybody with any humanity or compassion couldn't write that comment after seeing it.
The second is spot-on; genital mutilation is unspeakably vile, though why you apply it only to the Muslim world I have no idea - an unwillingness perhaps to criticise the large US Jewish population?
And religion aside, cruelty inflicted on any living creature is ugly and shames humankind.

#10 FGM is not practised by Jews in this country or any other that I know of , but tens of thousands
of Muslim little girls and women have it forced upon them.

Ps yea I watched the video and I still like ham and bacon.

#11 And FGM is different from MGM in which way exactly?
I refer you to #12, who has a far greater grasp of morality than you can ever dream of.
P.S. I also refer you to this - http://www.snotr.com/video/13759#comment-228847

#13 I can only suppose that you do not understand the procedure. A girl having her clitoris cut out with
a razor blade would be about the same as having your penis made insensitive and useless except
for taking a piss. You might want to do some research before making such a ridiculous comparison.

And Gandhi let his people starve rather than killing and eating their sacred cows.
He felt cows were equal to humans. I sure don't .

#10 FGM is not a muslim problem but an african one. It is practiced by the majority of christians in egypt and by erithrean jews as well (so much for doing some research). Somehow your compassion with these girls seems kinda opportunistic to justify some islamophobia, especially in the light of your lack of empathy with other living beeings you seem to be so proud of.

#15 What are you talking about? Do you mean *my* islamophobia? As if (a) anything I said implied it in any way or (b) that I first mentioned it?
I refer you to the original comment = #5.
I'm not islamophobic. I'm religionphobic. It makes otherwise good people do evil things. And yes, I do know that this is off-topic here, but I didn't raise the religion question in this topic.

#15 "erithrean jews"? There is only one native Jewish person,a man , left in Eritrea and FGM has been banned in that country.
All the Jews left years ago for Israel and other countries in Europe and North America.
Your "research" is lacking. :D

FGM is practiced by some Coptic Christians in Egypt, particularly in Upper Egypt, as a matter of pressure from and assimilation to the Muslim majority. Its roots goes back to Pharaonic times. FGM has no religious textual backing in Christianity (as it has in Islam) , or any support by the Coptic Church. In fact, the Coptic Church clearly and openly opposes the practice of FGM and finds it contradictory to divine values.(as do I) It is definitely tied to Islam and almost one-third of the world's Muslim population resides in Africa , so it is also an African problem.
Islamophobia is just a word made-up by those seeking to silence others about radical Islam.
